plus... a nice guy
I recently met greg, briefly, after he spoke at the SF Noise Pop festival keynote. He was not only a very considered and eloquent guy during his discussion but it was clear he was an incredibly nice guy too. He was one of those guys who you could sit and listen to his musings all day.
Carissa's Wierd (sic)...
Its such a shame that with all the great bands you've included that you missed who are undoubtably the greatest sadcore/slowcore band never to quite "make it" - Carissa's Wierd. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carissa's_Wierd
I love this band...
the album is immense
I don't normally respond to anything written under one of my pieces but in this case I'm gonna...
Clearly, the majority of people who have commented above don't seem to understand just what the MySpace trail is all about. We start the trail with a band who have some current relevance (e.g. big tour, new album, recent success, whatever, etc) and then jump to other artists via their top MySpace friends. This 'scene' outlined above is very much a real and happening one AT PRESENT in the city, I know because I've witnessed it first hand. Furthermore, if a well-loved band end and all their members form new bands of course they are going to 'big' one another up by putting them in their top friends! Further to that, of course people have an interest in knowing what these guys are now doing. All of these acts above are absolutely brilliant!
Yes there are LOADS of great bands in the city that aren't mentioned. If they were all included, and assuming they were top friends on MySpace, you'd still be reading for the next few months. Thanks for the other tips I look forward to checking them all out too...
its been updated!
BUT we're not sure who takes their place.
So, its just TBC - we heard they are quite good though :-)
Oh lucy!
And you said your photos were gonna be shit. Think you captured it pretty well! Good work.
amen
that is a great song
i fuckin love this band
that is all
they are out now
you are right
They are out in the US already and...
the remastering is amazing. Imagine listening to Fade To Black in full audio glory? Well now you can.
Its bound to cost a few ££ though. It was like $35 in US, so probably like £30 - £40.
Justice for all is apparently up next!
Nice!
Some of THE greatest bands around, in THE greatest city.
(personal opinion has, possibly, biased the above statement).
However, I wanna know the details of what happened on saturday night???
the fact i was on a plane when this was on
...is no excuse for missing this
fuckin hope it ain't 'the final chapter'
Nice!
Kat Von D is so fuckin awesome. And even though she seems to be a household name in the US now, still very level headed.
Bet Ami and Nunez are well jealous... or maybe not? Maybe they are getting to tattoo all the ass they've ever dreamed of now... thank god for Yoji

that error was purposeful. it was done to check that the readers are in fact reading the content.

Although its been a bit of a tat house for a while, and having a club like fabric just up the road makes it even more apparent.
