When I first heard Verbs, I liked bits but didn't really get it

but Versions hit the spot almost immediately! AU are really good live too!

Hmmm

Portishead - Third
TV On The Radio - Dear Science
Wildbirds & Peacedrums - Heartcore
volcano! - Paperwork
Grails - Doomsdayer's Holiday
Vessels - White Fields and Open Devices

I've not listened to the Gang Gang Dance enough yet, quite like Kasai Allstars, Portico Quartet (I think this is 2007 though) and a few others, but my mind has gone blank!

I would like to see the news stories/reviews

back on the forum page, as that is the page I use most...
Ta

Slow Jam

is very much tongue in cheek!

There's a European

buy button on the myspace.

European release date should be around 6th October

I'm sure Martin can fill in the gaps when he gets online...

I'm biased...

but I think the vocals add some tenderness to the wall of guitars.

If the vocals were more like Christina Aguilera (bad example), well you know what I mean, technical, strong and high in the mix, then I just don't think it would have the same effect.

Saying that, I now want to hear CA sing over experimental rock music! Now!

How about Brendan Canning's album

Something For All of Us

It's in June at 13th Note

Friday 6th, I believe!

Thanks for the info!

I shall have a listen

Who are Harvey Milk?

I know not of them

Yup, I've heard

some previews from the Vessels album, and drooled big time!

They started with

this track on Saturday - possibly my favourite:

Radio 1 Session by Vessels

is aired on Huw Stephen's show from midnight on Wednesday.

Leeds University Union?

or Met Union?

O Fracas

Quack Quack

My local record store...

I always ask what is worth listening to this week.

I also like DiS, Plan B. If I like a band loads, I will read lots of reviews for namechecks and take it from there.

There's a bit more info here

I think most of the work was done by a Hawk and a Hacksaw!

It's tough

volcano! - Beautiful Seizure
Radiohead - Amnesiac
Sigur Rós - Agaetis Byrjun
Godspeed You Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists...
The Cinematic Orchestra - Every Day
The Mars Volta - De-Loused In The Comatorium

I missed Black Seeds last night

I saw them in NZ - not bad - kind of a more chilled out Madness

vessels!

are great!!! But the link on their name takes you to a different band called The Vessels - annoying!

Simon Jones

was bassist. Simon Tonge was rhythm and came in later era Verve

The worst thing about is...

the inability to search for it on the internet easily. I like the album, it's good, what do others think?

I have seen them live a few times, and it doesn't quite capture that sound...
