Brilliant!
Shaping up to be a pretty beefy weekend, just yesterday I was wondering when more bands would be announced, this is a great early lineup!
I think it might be a piss take iamwiggy, its not like they are a band who are ever going to break into the mainstream so i doubt its really a promotion as such!
Yay
Yay for Spillers
The answer is..
a) The United Kingdom

yey
the blue monster shirt is amazing isnt it!my friend and i went to clwb ifor bach for a los campesinos! night there, when the album came out, they gave away posters, badges etc etc, we had matching (he had the yellow and blue shirt, me vice versa) tshirts. sadly no one else seemed to care as much as us!good news about another album though!
A) Super Furry animals!
thank you in advance
..
i probably agree that it will be 3/10 and a bit naff, but i think its a bit ahrsh to tell thousands of people they are 'wrong' just to go into hmv, you'r being a bit closed minded, as funny as it might be, the fratellis were ok on the first album, two catchy songs, theres one on there, i cant remember what its called but its a pretty good bouncy rock track.
"this is why you are reading this" come on, i read DiS for decent opinion, not to be given a pat on the back for being 'cultured'
Broken Social Scene!
Suprised that was left out, its a top album!also, cassadaga by bright eyes is good and fionn regan too!

anything that brings the NME and Q closer together must be a good thing?
WHAT?
So jeremy clarkson types can be scenesters?
surely thats like saying two wrongs make a right, and clearly the case is no.all the bands they who wouldnt have been there before are all radio1 fodder.and the worst thing is its not even justifiably good.
at least the klaxons have some tunes but mika?jack penate?the enemy?the view? all awful awful bands who would be up shit creek without a paddle if it wasnt for the fact they fit a nice market niche which their company can push them into and pander to relentlessly.
i hate it when people think bands are good just because they have been bigged up.
sad face
Going to miss all of this as i am on the way to london to see......
beirut.bloody gutted at that, especially as the cribs and mr mcguinness are there. and worst of all i will miss every day because i am seeing ryan adams on the sunday(okay maybe thats not the worst thing ever)
Hasnt this been out for Ages?
some pretty catchy tracks
Universal doing stuff to Bella Union
Not nice im sure, hopefully they ca stave off or at least recognsie bella union are clever enough to make alternative music without any fiddling around.if that happens then maybe it would be a bit beneficial.
Joanna Newsoms First Album!
Sorry to be the second to comment, but its brilliant.
Ys is grossly overated apart from Cosmia which is amazing.
the view
unbelievable libertines rip offs and basically a bit fillery, but they do seem genuine, i dont think they are as cynical as razorlight for example.
they seem to be into it a lot and they look good live,
saying that, thats hardly a barometer as johnny borrell is the most contrived pop star ever.
at last
something DiS in wales!
look forward to it as i am in cardiff uni as of this september, excellent stuff.

yeah
yeah, put in a bottle made for white lightning and sold it to a thruppence down the docks to a sailor with a limp
why
oh why are there never any wales dis shows?
bugged me for a while that, if mansfield people wanna c these bands then im sure cardiff could russle up a big enough crowd???
sounds right to me
yeah but its probably justified considering how many cds they probably sold minus all the vat or whatever they managed to avoid for all this time.
they probably saved a good quid per cd they sold.
thats a lot of cds and lots of money
yeah
yeah i agree.
i might check this out, if only i knew what genre it was.
smiley dance rocking
care to expand and mention more than that.
:)
personally i adored lets bottle bohemia, still do.

why do we have to compare every indie/rock album to the libertines.
this is a good album in its own right, not as good as the first but strong enough to show they have enough sense to ignore the hype thats surrounded them.
the libertines were great in their own right but can we stop comparing any punky/rocky/indie-y band to them ffs.

Excellent review
Especially love the first few paragraphs- really disseminate the feel of the festival without making it painfully 'transparent' to use your word. Also glad someone enjoyed Explosions, everyone I talked said the crowd weren't much into it.
