i like M.I.A's music
but it's obviously she thinks she's making far more of a political statement than she actually is.
Seeing her on the first album tour, she was really nice when we saw her after the show. it was more fun. despite the fact the promoter was literally trying to throw tickets at people to make them come. seeing her on the kala tour it seems like she is trying to stress this "faux-political laziness" that people seem to consider worthy of censorship. ultimately she said "let me hear/see my girls" more times that Rihanna and the show was just lacking in any substance, with hr consider reminders that "people call me a pussy for doing it like this, but in this world it's the only way to get your opinion across" peh... love the music but hell it's not anything particulary groundbreaking... at best it takes an underground genre and tries to make it popular.
she is difficult
i love cat power's music, but everytime ive gone to see her she was fucking rubbish. There's stage fright and then there's just being a drunken and drugged up mess half starting songs and then mumbling up stage until it's time to finish. The Barbican show was an improvement. But I'd want to be guaranteed she's clean before i spent another twenty quid on going to see her.
cannot wait for the new album though
what a flippin legend
good on her!

no...
i think its one of the strongest, especially live. It contains what is essentially bearsuit. loud screamy bits, kitsch twee bits, and its one of the most pop songs the band have released in a while in terms of verse bridge chrous verse etc
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
FLATTERING
could they not just be flattered by it even if was due to their use of the word californication. dont they have enough money without saying
"hey dude, we invented that word dude"
"yeah man"
"let's sue, it's just not right dude."
they are terrible anyway, wish they would just disappear.
Californication is a portmanteau of California and fornication, written about in Time on August 211972 and seen on bumper stickers in the U.S. states of Colorado and Oregon. It refers primarily to "haphazard, mindless development that has already gobbled up most of Southern California".

Amazing Band
cannot wait to see this. When they played Brighton last time they made half the audience laugh and half the audience cry. They are great at just creating emotion from the audience. They are playing Brighton again on the 17th July at The Hope, think they are going to be massive.
Tickets are £ 6 in advance and are available from local record shops and http://www.wegottickets.com/event/18332
Woo
This Show was awesome, as was Norwich, albeit with less people.
Of Montreal play Brighton Audio on 3rd August. It's going to be amazing.
Come www.wegottickets.com or local record shops
shut up.
Who cares about lily allen, lily was good for about a week, as all popular music seems to be designed to be at the moment.
I like Kate Nash, yeah she isn't grown breaking or exciting, but at least she is fun, foundations is cute, the video is funny and for the average confused love-struck 20 year old it's just what it is. Caroline is a Victim got loads of criticism, but it was such a piss-take song, that who really took it seriously. does pop music have to be taken seriously. I love rihanna's umbrella but still love post-rock and noise... god get a grip.
Marketing is just marketing, and kate is only getting pushed along with it.
Peggy sue and the pirates are better anyhow
Kate is hot.
i cannot wait for this album
although its hip hop production could either mean good news or bad or could be one funny rumor.
I'm counting the days.

June 11th
They are playing Brighton on the 11th June at The Hope
Should be a killer, as long as it's a sunny day and its the last day of the tour so drinks all round
venues and cities
are different to those cancelled in december... only liverpool and london are the same. Sunderland and Chatham???
whatever
Bollocks... Help She Cant Swim were good.
thanks
This is so silmilar to all the other interviews they have done. Every time they release an album they go up against people saying that they either love them or hate them. or Statements like... Crimes wasn't as good as Burn and Young Machetes isn't as good as Crimes etc etc. From the show on Monday i got the impression i was surrounded by a lot of people who used to like the blood brothers but didnt really like them anymore and only wanted to hear burn piano island or people who loved them no matter what, the sort of audience who would have watched Johnny fart into the microphone. One of Johnny's screams was awesome, and despite his illness, his performance was energetic and fun. Young Machetes is such a strong album but it isnt as relentless and that is what someone i spoke to said as a criticism of the band's performance.
Bearsuit Brighton
Bearsuit also play Brighton with the retro spankees and das wonderlust at the pressure point on Saturday 17th February... I might demand a few old songs too...
