:)

as it was at my local, and i was one of the very fortunate ones to get two of the last remaining tix that went on resale - it was an awesome gig! oh, and great reveiw too:)

^

as i missed out the london gig two weeks back, i am going to this one!
looking forward to new release... still think glasgow megasnake rocks though;)

BRING IT ON!

For Trans Am enthusiasts, Seb Thomson is playing this Thursday (18th) in another of his seminal acts - Publicist - Bardens Boudoir, London.

viking moses,

the monroe transfer... looks in diary, yep i be there!

i'm of two minds...

re this line-up. whilst i'd be intrigued to see nick cave perform, i hold the same reservations prole (re fans)& jamie_s (diversity/2nd wend).

papa m and brokeback, i'd really like to see but think i'll hold off for a london show.

also, i'm not too sure about minehead... obviously the atp folk want to encourage a larger audience, so hence the move to a bigger 'holiday camp'... i guess i'll see how it pans out at the nightmare b4 xmas before i commit...

aye...

truly a rockin' set by an emergency... looking forward to seeing them again!

cyhsy

record is fab! just scored one via ebay and it's been on non-stop rotation. for you kids studying math figure it out. record goes for 40mins (ok, it's 38:something). there’s 24 hours in a day. an hour consists of 60 minutes. multiple that by 24 equals 1440mins. divide that by 40... 36. so effectively i could play this record 36 times. which would properly annoy my housemates. hmm. i've had too much coffee:)

Decemberists: Announce dates & talk to DiS

weird. it would have been exactly a year to date since they played in london last (okay, it was the 15th nov last year)... and the unicorns supported them too. aye. it should be a grand gig!

Pit er Pat

i was at said gig too, and have to agree that it was the jazz influenced drummings of butchy that carry the band... though with that said rob doran of alkaline trio fame did stand his own ground. nice enough peps after the gig too, with a little reminiscing of chicago on my part butchy was kind enough to contribute. a kicked back gig but defiantly looking out for the blissful tunes of the american analog set tomorrow:)

Re: DiS All-dayer - this weekend!

i was at that gig too! wasn't going to comment on mugglewumps comment but having a look at profile, she's from leicester... tired irie are from leicester, so figured it was a personal attack. quite happy for her to prove me wrong;)

bardons closed! what what! there goes seeing pit er pat (oh and the dis all dayer too;) grrr...

We like trucking and we like to truck. Truck Festival 2005: reviewed

Stuffy/The Fuses... (AF) 'At the end of the set, Stuffy attempts to do a competition and asks a ridiculously impossible lyric question to a baffled audience. I didn’t write down what it was, but Stuffy quickly realised his mistake and gave an album to the first person to put their hand up.'

it was a steve albini question - he mentioned a line from the song 'kim gordon's panties' from big black's 'two nuns and a pack of mule' and asked the audience to guess. as it was a little obscure, he then asked what band steve albini was currently in.

i so should have won that comp! bus alas i was situated on the side of the tent therefore was not in eye contact.

The Schla La Las (AF) 'After one song I realise that I could be watching somebody else, so I trek to the Barn.'

ha! oh so not the only one!

all up a good weekend, looking forward to next year!

DiS for a day: Bringing the rock to Stoke Newington

stella line up and stella venue!

of said awesome turkish eatery;)

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Four Tet tour with EITS

i know. i know. but i'm BROKE!

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Four Tet tour with EITS

aye. that it is... hmmm, thing is i'm all dubious and broke like... it's not mentioned on the eat your own eyes website... might drop 'em a line...

EXCLUSIVE: Four Tet tour with EITS

oh yay! there are tix on sale for the london gig via seeripofftix, but nothing confirmed about eits.
nothing on their/labels website about it either - i love keiran but like m_m_m am brokish and would only dish out the moula if eits confirmed...

Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies - Ores

saw this band last night at atp - i must have been living under a rock,
these guys totally blew me away! a must live and i'm defiently will be seeking out their recordings. just checked their website - playing london town may 19th... ltown folks take note!

Shipping News - Flies The Fields

'very soon, and in pleasant company' is probably the record to begin with when getting to know the shipping news. i can only hope that their latest release evokes the same qualities - but hey its jeff mueller, you can't really expect anything less can ya? a purchase will be made this wend, verdict next week;)

Re: Art Of Fighting - Second Storey

argh the lovely art of fighting... a particular favourite of mine, but he-he how funny to read a review of their record which i've owned since late last year.

suggestions - try to secure 'the very strange year'
(cute story - design of cover was discussed and kind of put together amongst a group of us at my old local, the empress hotel - melbourne.); empty nights and wires.

have to admit the release of second story does take time to grow - but all in all very lush. ollie has the most delicate vocals... sigh...

last time aof were on uk shores was 2001 - had the opportunity to see them at the spitz with joan of arse supporting - fingers crossed that they'll be back (though with peggy recently giving birth - it could be awhile)

give it a trianitwontigongalop!

Tears For Fears - Everybody Loves A Happy Ending

is it just me, or does the cover art look a wee bit similiar to that of the 3ds (a fabulous new zealand band) record 'the venus trail'?

hmmmm....

Who will cut their hair now they're gone? - Unicorns split

two on one day!

curious to know who this 'senior source' is?
i forwarded this to an australian music site
and got totally dissed for not naming names.
sheesh.
try to forward bad news and look what happens!
but hey person who wrote the news - where did that come from? 'cause i can't see anything on their site.

and yep i've heard the rumours for awhile now.
