Album's done
Spoke to Gareth after the Wrexham gig last night and he said it's mastered and ready to go, alas, not til February :(
Cracking show mind, despite a slightly shaky start. And Sky Larkin & You Say Party were fab too.
To be honest, it's not even been that
First year, the only gig I went to was El Presidente (fucking atrocious). They fucked up their budget for the year having Rachel Stevens here, which no one turned up to.
Last year, there was one gig, again, I didn't go. I think it was Cord, or something...
But yeah, Wrexham has been the only decent place nearby for gigs. Some cracking ones coming up as well.
THEY'RE PLAYING HERE*?!
Colour me fucking surprised. It's a good time to be a third year student.
*Here being Bangor. We've got Go Team, Pigeon Detectives and now these guys in the space of a month. What the hell is going on, we rarely get gigs, let alone remotely decent acts.
Likewise!!!
Thank god I only have to drive 50 miles or so up the A55 to see these beasts. Can't wait!!
The Coachella performance..
Was one of the finest all weekend! The crowd went seriously nuts for them... after I'd told the group of high-schoolers stood in front of me who they were.
On a serious note, they were fab.
RATM...
I spent £670 or so going to Coachella.
And the hour that Rage were on made it worth every penny. Easily the greatest hour of live music I've experienced in my life so far.
9, probably a 10
I really wasn't that impressed when I first heard it, but it's got under my skin big time (Weekend in the City did exactly the same thing).
It's definitely one of THE albums of the year.
On the Ropes
is a classic album! It's my perfect summer time CD, and most of the tracks never fail to raise a smile.
I watched ten minutes
And ran from my friend's house screaming.
Awful television. Awful awards. Awful performances. At least Simon Pegg and Nick Frost made it bearable a couple of years back.
Well, I'm going to Coachella
Despite Mr.Morello's quite frankly gimpish comments, I've taken the plunge and bought a ticket to LA for what should be a pretty interesting gig. I never got the chance to see Rage when I was younger (Coldplay in 2001 was my first gig ffs) so I'm pretty damn excited.
And the lineup for Coachella beats the hell out of any of the mainstream festivals over here. Sexy.
I could have sworn
that they only started selling them last year or so? That's the case for the Bangor Tesco at any rate.
Fuck
Only got to see them supporting Bloc Party a couple of years back at the Manc Academy, but they were unbelievably good. I'm starting to regret not seeing them again :(
He did not!
We paid him a fair amount Chris, everyone chipped in bar the paper stooges in the corner ;)
He got a bottle of Whiskey as a thank you though. That was a fun fun fun night.
The funniest thing
Radio 1 did when I was listening was trying to introduce Arcade Fire to the drivetime masses... about 10 months after Funeral had been released here. Scott Mills and that gimp Chappers were reading off a very old press release, and I sat there laughing to myself. I don't think Mills even liked them.
This split
has made me a sad panda :(
As will I
I am missing a meetup with my housemates in Brum for this, I *heart* the music.
on straightening
I straightened my hair once. It did naff all. And it's too much hard work, how do le emo kids find enough hours in the day?
And I used to like Lostprophets, but Liberation Popfest hurt my ears.
Meh.
I am upset
As I cannot go.
Thanks to the awful company known as Iceland and their plot to destroy my insanity and my bank balance in tandem!
In general
Arch Enemy were fucking dire.
The highlight of Wicked Wisdom's set (Mrs.Smith's band) was the end when the Fresh Prince himself came out and gave the horns.
G'N'R was just the most bizarre set I've probably ever witnessed in my life. It was nice to see Izzy Stradlin playing a few tracks though.

Ooooooo
Saves me going to Coachella again I guess. But I have no idea where I will be then. Decisions to be made in the next 24 hours...
