^ True, I missed that one!

The bunch of piss kidneys

I'm extremely surprised

at the quality of their taste! They managed to put DEP and Down in there, and even voted Les Savy Fav higher than DiS! They fell down on a few points though - Fall Out Boy? Jamie T? Mark Ronson? Albums of the year? Really?

And still no fucking Jetplane!

You can download this for free if you want!!!

Download Saul Williams' new record "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust ASAP. You can get it offically for free or pay $5 (£2.50!) and it really is fucking mega!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://niggytardust.com/

Also, Buck 65

has released what is probably his best album to date, and it hasn't even earned a DiS review, let alone inclusion in the top 50 shortlist. I really still can't get over the Jamie T thing though, I'm sorry but that just aint cricket.

Where the fuck is Jetplane Landing!!???

Jamie T? Really????? I mean, seriously? Jamie Fucking T????!!!!

I'll get my tit out like Janet, coz she's unavailable...

Uncategorisable.

Is that a word? It is now!

You know? Far cry from small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts. Rush goalie. Two at the back, three in the middle, four up front, one's gone home for his tea. Beans on toast? Possibly, don't quote me on that. Marvellous.

Ryan-y Giggsy-wiggsy. Isn't it? You know, marvellous.

Is George Best the old Ryan Giggs? But Giggsy-wiggsy. Precocious talent, isn't he? Mmm? Ooh, got it all, you know? Speed, acceleration, sweet left foot, all the tricks - the dummy, the drop of the shoulder, the shimmy, nutmeg, jiggery-pokery, hocus pocus, abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya. Steve Miller Band? Spin Doctors? Ooh, very similar.

Damn! Beat me to it!

...Great minds and all that

Although I did find JOANJOAN's comments initially amusing,

I give a shit, and I did pre-order my copies from Vinyl Collective/Suburban Home. I opted for the clear with silver splatter, but ordered the solid silver too, more from a collecting point of view than anything else! They had the deal on the whole set, but I don't like MTB quite that much!

Jenleft ...as in Jen_Left from the KK Forums?

Haven't looked in there or the Tangerines one for ages!

Timmeeerrrrgh and Alan Partridge's Love Child

...more like!

^ Mitch Benn ^

A moderately funny guy in general, but that line is a good one

James Blunt is the only man alive who is his own rhyming slang!

Saw that comedian guy at Glastonbury (can't remeber his name. Fat with a small geeetar), and heard that line again. Pissed myself the first time I heard that last year at Leeds.

I agree wholeheartedly with this review...

When the first riff of track 1 finally kicked in, I thought "Oh yes! Once Like a Spark, part 2", and then the vocals kicked in, leaving me thoroughly perplexed. As more and more celebrity names were dropped throughout the album, I really thought JL were taking the piss! I couldn't believe that a band with such integrity and talent would make me wait 4 years for such a pile of shit!

...But I persevered, and on about the 6th listen, I realised just how bloody amazing this album really is! I loved their last album and was expecting a bit more of the same, which initially left me hating what they'd actually released. Then when it clicked, it made all the previous 5 agonysing listens worth it!

The only thing I would say about this album is that it should have come out 18 months ago. Even if it was just on a plain CD-R in a clear slipcase - with their own label and such an obvious amount of energy and creativity, Jetplane Landing should be releasing far more albums. I'm sure if they did, they have the talent not to let the quality diminish.

I think in my old age I'm starting to pass judgements on albums before I've heard them, then when I play the album and it's not what I expect, I don't like it! This has happened with not only Backlash Cop, but the new albums by Hell Is For Heroes, QOTSA and Biffy Clyro. All of these albums I thought were mediocre to shit on first listen, but after 4 or 5 plays they started to grow on me and I realised they are all pretty good albums! Shame they were all released within about as fortnight of each other. They were all very anticipated releases by me, and all of them disappointed me on first play! Oh what a tosser I have become.

Maybe she's got M.E. ...?

Well,she might!

/\ ARE YOU BRIAN MAY? /\

...by any chance?

Where the hell ye managed to pre-order it from?

I've looked about and no-one seems to list it for pre-order yet.

AGREED! All of Inches...

is a fucking party album! They all make me want to dance like a mandrill with a cartridge of liquid nitrogen in it's rectum! And I'm a 25 year-old lanky twat who can't dance to save his life! That's how inconcievably danceable LSF songs are.

One of the best albums you could ever hear!

Every song is sheer class. This would be my ultimate party album. It would be a fucked-up party, admittedly, but each and every song has a part in it which makes me just wanna shake my booty! Which isn't usually a pretty sight. But if this album was on I simply wouldn't care!

Absolute genius encapsulated on a little plastic disc. You must buy this album! Had it since the day it was released, a good 3 years ago now I think, and I could still listen to it every day without getting bored.

I was at the Derby show

...and it was damn good. Escpecially seeing IFP play "God Gave Me Gravity"!!! Disappointing turnout though, I really hoped that more people would show more respect for Cable in their fucking hometown. Still, I enjoyed it!

I also have this album.

I knew it was a best-of when I looked at the track listing, but had never heard of it's release. Bought it in Prague about 4 years ago. I managed to find out it was Europe only (were they bigger over there?!?!) but I didn't realise it was rare. Or that Oubliette is a different version, as I always just listen to the 3 actual albums. Will have to listen to it now!

LOL! @ /\

Yep.

I wasn't going to post until I read his posts. What a sea urchin-shagging cunt

Me hopes there be some irony here

Because there is a very large doubt over the above. Actually, reading the second sentence, I've just realised it is sarcastic. Well done, and I apologise for taking the shine off a perfectly valid sarcastic comment

Afraid Not...

He's now playing in a steel drum band in Hawaii. No shit! He left rock music for good when he left Helmet before "Aftertaste" was released.

Helmet are my favourite band ever and it pains me to hear sub-standard new material. I think the review is just about spot-on. It's okay, by Helmet's standards, but not brilliant. But it completely eclispes "Size Matters", which I haven't listened to since about a week after I got it.

Those of you pining for Stanier, who haven't heard his recent projects should check out The Mark of Cain (I'm sure you have already), Battles and of course, Tomahawk.

Doesn't everyone think that Helmet (considering just how much of an important influence they proved to be on the rock/metal scene) deserve a better introduction on DiS than "Did 'Betty'. Like you care. Recently reformed but ultimately just for the dough."???????? Someone sort this out - Nick Cowen?

Does no-one else see

...the irony here?

What with all this name-calling - "indie snobs", "cooler than thou wankers" and whatever else. This is mainly being done by the people who like this album, but the album's called "Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not"!!!?!!??!!

Do the 'Dog - Irish rock monsters reform!

Wow! So many people who love Kerbdog and Cable! They're both fuckin ace!

I live near Derby, but might fly to Dublin for this show

Re: Hudson Super Six - "It still genuinely surprises me when people say such nice things about us!"

I take it you already have "Live At Brixton Prison E.P."? If not, it's still available. Try Amazon or The Left-Legged Pineapple in Loughborough. If anyone's got any bootleg stuff though, I'm eager to hear about it. The only way to find stuff about ex-cable members is to search for each of them by name. The irrelevant crap outnumbers the useful info, but isn't that how it goes on the internet?!

Sheffield Casbah Closes; DiS Tour Date Venue Change

CHORA! Try and get Chora to play. They're an amazing 3-piece, made up of Sheffield Hallam Uni students. No vocals, but more than made up for by sheer musical talent, originality and songwriting ability. Maybe a slightly harder version of mogwai is the closest comparison I can make. I've seen them 3 times now, and they've completely blown me away every time. As far as I know, they all finish their degrees this year, and from then on they're going full-time with the band. Look out for the name - you heard it here first. CHORA
