MP Show
Yes,will be going to this one!
Hmm
Obviously this reviewer hates Maximo Park.
Paul Smith is not skinny, neither does he resemble Robbie Williams in any shape or form.As for his bald patch-what's the problem with that?
Mon the Park!
Razor-sharp Maximo
Paul Smith's vocals are indeed "bang on the money."
Ignore those who say Maximo are
a)pretentious
b)miserable
c)"a little kid's group",as a friend(?) of mine rather weirdly put it.
This single should be No.1.
End of story.
Change For Maximo
I met the band recently and found out they are all OK boys.Put on this earth to give us their unique music and lyrics, they have made their mark on the Millennium in a big way.A band with something to say, more than ever with "Our Earthly Pleasures."This album will do better than "ACT" as it paints on a broader canvas. Thanks for this interview.I'll be seeing Maximo in May,if not before.
more new venues needed
I live near W6,but have never been to the Hammersmith Palais. It's always looked a really seedy joint to me.
Why can't developers build some new venues to replace the crumbling ones, instead of the tedious shop/office complexes which repeat themselves? The new music of the noughties needs new places for bands to play it in,for God's sake. We are fast becoming a capitalist country which is strangling the growth of new music.
Excited
My first time at the Astoria, should be a great one. They should preserve this fine historic venue....
Stupid
My local stupid branch of Fopp had never heard of this band,or this album. They said "no branch of Fopp would stock it"!!
baldness
They'll cope because there exists the wondrous invention of hair transplants.
Great !!
Love this song.
Good God you boys
Blue-blooded murder of the English tongue
More please!
New Horizons
The new album from Maximo will be very welcome indeed.
Thank you and goodnight.

Keep your vulgar opinions to yourself, and stop insulting my mate JonnieMakem.
Check yourself into rehab for Tourette's sufferers.
Maximo
Seeing them at Brixton for the first time. Don't think Mr Diver's delightful description of their frontman is very clever though.
Perhaps Mr Diver's been guilty of a similar action?
Why
do lots of people compare Field Music and Maximo Park to the Futureheads?just cos they come from the same part of the world. They're three very individual bands all with their own style.
Very definitive list
Well put together and intelligently thought out, pigeon.
Up and coming
This band have alot of style and their music's great. They'll be one of the success stories of 2006.
Good music?
I've not heard their sound yet,but look forward to hearing it this summer.
The Like
Thank you for that support for The Like. I think they're very promising and Z sounds like a young Debbie Harry.
Fearne
I read she was 23. She's really attractive I think. He's got nice hair-if it's real.
Above review
I neglected to mention a word of sympathy about Maximo Park's Duncan Lloyd, who broke his arm last month in a freak accident at the NME Awards. The guitar accompaniment on "Stray Talk" is by Duncan. Let's hope he gets well very soon and gets back to playing so beautifully with the Park.
I bought
Field Music's first album a couple of months ago and thought they were very harmonious and fresh. Watch their progress this year- I will be.
I couldn't get there
But after five months of exasperation have successfully secured tickets for Maximo Park's show at Brixton in October. My first experience of them live. It will be the highlight of my year. I liked reading this review,it seemed to be an honest description from what I can tell. Alot of lies get printed about these bands, and it's good to see Colin Roberts putting the record straight, especially about the reduced numbers in the crowd. Thought this review was very fair, and level-headed. Wish I'd been there!!
Get well soon Duncan
Really sorry to hear of this. Do get well and get plenty of rest.Maybe have some healing.
Beatrice's review
A nice positive feedback. I'm seeing them live on 6 Oct.06 and can't wait.
The above review
What about some constructive criticism?
