and that is my default rule
So soon after 'Dan of Green Gables'? Woooo!
is massively underrated - it's a brilliant album.
that photo of Lily Allen, out in interest?
And ETG's album looks very promising - but that's about all they've got in common. Don't think the comparison stands. But then nor do I understand why this terrible review is just a long list of bands I don't like.
best record of the year, easy.
I've not seen a single end-of-year list with the Wave Pictures on it yet? What are they doing wrong!!?!
can't put into words how excited I am. really hope they play some of think tank...
but this is still the weakest Pavement album. Some glorious moments though.
i automatically love anyone who loves the Lemonheads.
Not sure Think Tank is my fave LP, but it's definitely up there amongst the best. Certainly better than 13.
But I still think a reformed Blur would be brilliant.
Swervedriver really weren't shoegazers, I agree. Sugar certainly weren't. Of the early 90s bands who (over)used guitar pedals, I think Lush were very much the best, with Ride close behind them - although Ride were the better live band. Pale Saints were decent, as were Slowdive, and Chapterhouse and Moose were average. Curve were terrible, and this reviewer doesn't know what he's talking about - horrid goth pop.
I've been waiting so long for them to re-record that song! Yay!
Would love to see The Wave Pics on the list but I kno that's unrealistic. My vote would go for Laura Marling, in their absence. Portishead will probably win.
'Velocity Girl' is the greatest indie single ever released.
