"I hope that Wolfmother aren't about to start calling themselves original or different"
Too late: http://www.drownedinsound.com/content/view/670768 ... Q. How would you describe your sound? "Extremely unique!"
Their Myspace is hilarious. Influences include Miles Davis and Boards of Canada, apparently...
Hahaha
Nice.
GET IN
I was in Victoria (Canada) a couple of years ago and stayed an extra day to see him. Then he cancelled (boo) but I did get to see Xiu Xiu (hurrah)
Hey
Aren't you the bloke whose girlfriend dragged him to see Towers of London? You really need to start putting your foot down...
Did he yell at Oprah "YOU'S A HO!"
because he should have done.
aye
Ghostface has done it too
You'd hope,
given that Danger Mouse made his name by ripping off copyright, he'd be generous enough to let other people have his music for nothing. But I suppose the world doesn't work that way...
No, the award for best-named drummer goes to the Meters:
Zigaboo Modeliste
I haven't heard the album (yet)
but I love this review.
Haha
Also, "I Can't Stop This Feeling I've Got" just makes me think of David Hasselhoff's oogachaka video...
I hear Tom Watkins has already bought 1000 copies
For his family and friends, like.
Haha!
Yeah, I bet he sent the IMDB a polite letter asking them to take it down. Like that's the only thing he'd have to be embarrassed about...
"Sex in the Kitchen"
is a great song, if only for the line "GIRL I'M READY TO TOSS YOUR SALAD"
they don't believe you
because it's not true: http://imdb.com/name/nm0750019/
Ja Rule can fuck right off, anyway.
don't forget
Fame Academy spuerstar and all-round knobhead Peter Brame
in 1997 I saw Radiohead at Gloucester Leisure Centre (oh the glamour)
and the bass vibrating through the floor when they played "Climbing Up The Walls" made a couple of my friends run off and vomit somewhere. It was Awesome.
I'm in
it'd be ArthurAtkinsontastic
I thought only 2 ex-Libertines were in DPT
Not that I give a fuck.
"My Heart Is The Worst Kind Of Weapon"
Is The Worst Kind Of Title
I like her
but she's fairly well-known for being a high-maintenance little diva, who'll routinely refuse to do a gig if she turns up and decides she doesn't like the venue.
Saw her last year at the May Day gig in Traf Square and she told the DJ "if that record skips again you're in deep shit" or something like that. Of course it skipped again, and she walked off...
OTCC had the worst cover I've seen for a long time
and a lot of it sounded like Gene. And no, I don't mean that in a nice way.
Haha
If only.
that Myspace link doesn't work -
should be http://www.myspace.com/oxfords_arts_fest
This does sound pretty good. I had no idea The Rock of Travolta were still going; it's like the last four years of my life never happened. I did like 'em.
Dustball/Dive Dive were OK, but the singer's voice always annoyed me a bit...
I'd dump her
sorry
Ha
"And I was like, OMG I cant wait to release my album LOL"
I love Kelis too. Especially the fact that she refers to Nas as "hubby"...
if I were an incurable optimist
I'd hope that an increase in the number of festivals would mean a decrease in ticket prices. This is Mean Fiddler, though...
I heard this for the first time yesterday
and it induced a bout of relentless boredom after about a minute and a half
