That Tarantula video kind of proves the original reviewer's point rather than yours... This all seems far too brazen and calculated to be a "reunion." Jimmy Chamberlin has played on every album Corgan has put out since 1999 - so in what way are they "reuniting?"

Pretty pathetic review, actually. I'm from Seattle and many here are really enamored with them specifically because few people do what they do. It's difficult to see what bearing The Shins -- a quiet indiepop band from New Mexico -- have to do with the greater Northwest "sound," or Terrene, who are far louder, stranger and more diverse. Show me a Built to Spill song that sounds like anything from track 5 on and I'll give you a thousand dollars. Not that it's ever worth attempting to rebut "rock formula" reviews where the reviewer notes that he downloaded some song that had the same guitar pedal in it once.

Anyway, here's something from the local press about them. They even listened to the album carefully enough to figure out that "Unwelcome" is the song with the videogame samples!
