Two words in reply to the above poster:
Utter shite.
Ah Lemmy...
He's so evil he's got boils on his face. I'm pretty sure this film will be awesome.
I think
that the Seeger Sessions is probably his best work since Nebraska aswell. The Ghost of Tom Joad had it's moments too, particularly the title track and Youngstown. But I'd recommend that everyone who enjoys The River listen to Josh Ritter's version, it's the best Springsteen cover I've ever heard:

I know it's unlikely
but one can always hope. I'm not sure Leonard Cohen often plays festivals either does he?
Benicassim?
I hope to God he plays Benicassim, I'd cream my pants if that was announced.
Sauchiehall Crawl...
They're also playing a mini-festival type thingy in Glasgow on June 1st called the Suachiehall Crawl with bands like De Rosa and Galchen. It's all based around 3 venues on Sauchiehall St, hence the name. Looks like that should be a pretty good night, tickets are only £15 or so.
Agreed...
I think it's probably my favourite album of the year also. My review of the album launch in Mono last week is here:
More noise?
Jesus...
Surely...
The Twilight Sad? I love their artwork, it's great.
Maybe...
you heard somebody say that he bums gays?
That website...
Makes me want to vomit in a cup and rub it all up in his curly freakin hair. The fact that his music plays over the top of sickly sweet, faux-psychadelic images has driven me to drink.
Sweet
De Rosa, Aidan Moffat, Malcolm Middleton, Sons and Daughters, Idlewild. Brilliant. And Karine Polwart, who is fucking unbelievable.
Heh heh
I have to agree, that was pretty funny.
Humour
I think the person who needs the sense of humour check is the person who dragged up the same ridiculous, contrived "razor-blade" Radiohead bollocks that's been around since approximately the dawn of time. I think if people want to make jokes about Radiohead, they should maybe think up some new jokes, because the old ones just ain't funny. And yeah, 'Videotape' kicks ass.
Yeah
I don't understand the comment I saw in one review that said the new album was "boring". I think it's really engaging throughout. Maybe it helps that I saw them live first.
Good stuff
Nice to see UoK gettin some reviews on the site now. Bloody good album Violence and Birdsong, definitely a grower.
Right, let's get something straight...
SO, I've never heard anything the Towers of London have done, and i'm ecstatic about that fact, as from reading DiS it appears they may make my ears bleed. But i wanna figure something out. Was that clip shown on TV? The second one, where they beat up the admittedly-quite-annoying-but-none-the-less-undeserving random? Because if it was, that would be some good evidence to press charges on. In which case, these guys appear to want to be Pete Docherty-esque badboys who want to get press coverage for being tits rather than their shite music. Which means they're either intensely stupid or are following a business plan which appears to be working given the apparently undeserved publicity this band are getting. They have a TV show? Fuck me. Odd. Anyway, just putting that out there. x
Hmmmm
I do like this version, but it definately doesn't add anything to the original. However, I agree that the Shins version of We Become Silhouettes is very very good. But "saccharaine, over-sugary, and just damn cringe-worthy" is, to be blunt, a load of cock.
What?
I don't see anyone laughing. You're rubbish.
I'm confused...
Is the JCB song even a christmas song? Does it contain the word christmas or any generally festive sentiments anywhere? I can't believe that the JCB song was written with christmas in mind.
Has anyone heard...
His version of "The Wind Cries Mary"? If so, did it make you want to scratch the scrawny fuck's eyes out aswell? Or was that just me?
Sentiments are right
I've just listened to this properly for the first time. Properly in that I've heard it about 50 times on the radio and paid not the slightest bit of attention to it. I reckon it's bloody good. Far better than westlife, crazy frog, x-factor muppet or girls aloud. I do like the rhyme between "BA Barracus" and "Bruce Lee's nunchukas". Can't quite understand why there's so much animosity towards this record.
Everlast wasn't
Shit. Admittedly I havn't heard his new album(s?), but his first two were pretty good.
Is it wrong?
In reply to your question, kickupthefire, hell fucking no, it's not wrong to laugh. I laughed wholeheartedly. I watched with glee as a friend burned a Gary Glitter vinyl recently.
Hey Hey Hey...
You cannot say that the oh so aptly named Powter is worse than THE CUNT. His songs at least make sense, lyrically. They may have all the artistic prowess of a cat's scrotum, but at least he's writing about something. I've been subjected to THE CUNT too much to think that anything, bar bloody anything, is worse than him.
For the uninitiated...
I have to listen to radio 1 at work. put simply, this guy is just a whingey fuck with a silly hat. Never ceases to amaze me how a bit of publicity makes the single buying public lap up shit songs.
Bloody Good
Bloody good set they played, enjoyed it alot. Vanderslice was good too, i'd never heard of him and i laughed at his amusing name. But he was good all the same.
This man is a...
Cunt.
Hmmmm
I've often wondered about this song/album title. Yeah i know it's supposed to be a joke, but what exactly about it is supposed to be, well, funny? I do think they have the capacity to be funny though. When i heard that "Growing On Me" was actually about genital warts, i did laugh quite alot.
Shit on a brick!
I didnt even know they were playin Glasgow in the first place! How did that one pass me by?
Silly Hair Boy?
Somebody said that this guy is "Silly Hair Boy". Surely that would apply to all 3 of Busted? And all of "Bunch of Cunts" as I think I'll now call this band, thanks to Shucks. However, I do get the point, he looks like a chimp in a shower cap.
Wow.
What an absolute cock-stuffer. Son of Dork is also possibly the worst band name i have ever heard.
