That's the problem with Arenas...

unfortunately. There should be plenty more other galleries on here that will satisfy you.

I had earplugs...

Well Deduced...

They were actually all from the Thursday, that's why the title says day 1. There's another one of these for each day you know? You'll find them here:

http://drownedinsound.com/lists/glastonbury

Would you rather I took pictures

Of fat middle-aged men? ;-)

Ta Muchly

Makes not eating since 8am seem almostworthwhile.

There will always be pics of bands (you can hardly have a music fetival without them. I'll make a note about more muddy people though. I could take pictures of myself, but that'd probably just scare everyone off ;-)

I was allowed to photo Slipknot

I'm not special enough apparently.

Same goes for Def Leppard.

Apologies...

my mistake, which should be rectified now. :-)

OUch!

Why so angry?

Why not?

It makes up for the fact we had no pictures from the earlier Manchester DiScover nights. :-)

haha

If only it were that easy :-(

I've re-uploaded them bigger...

so now you can see the wrinkles

As would I...

Aouch!

Haha!

I just noticed the flying guitar on picture '5'!

Great work Neil!

Haha

Feet are always important, as are hands, but they're generally easier to get in.

Glad you enjoyed the gig, and the pictures :-)

Indeed!

Even if you had parted with your hard-earned...

You are still a guest of the venue and must abide by their rules when asked.

If a photo-pass is required, then you must obtain one to take pictures... end of story.

"never do nuffin' for no-one, unless you're prepared to jump through hoops, too"

The hoops are there for a reason. Please learn to jump through them with minimum fuss.

"plus, central obesity in men before middle-age is caused by poor diet and excess alcohol consumption 99% of the time, so – y'know – I'm not being mean or libellous when I describe him thus (I didn't see a Medic-Alert bracelet, either, to suggest diabetes or hypothyroidism)"

Being Diabetic myself (I don't wear one of those crappy bracelets either) I'd appreciate it if you would shut the fuck up. No obesity to report here, thank you.

Ta!

I tries my best.

Plus AC3 has no pit

so any movement involves sharpening your elbows.

yup

That's Mr. Arse...

to you.

I'm everywhere...

Gwauh Har HAr Har

You were there?

Why didn't you say hello?

Screaming = Singing

When done in tune. ;-)

Comparing Justice to Radiohead

is about as silly as comparing Radiohead to Kiss.

You are indeed correct.

But I'm disappointed at Alex missing Baroness, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, In Flames etc from the highlights... it truly is a festival for everyone.

The Amhpi stage is most definitely my favourite festival stage... ever. Seeing Neurosis play that last year was something very special indeed.

Electrified water?

I like that idea. ;-)

She really does.

Not much else I could do about that, short of prodding her with an electrified pole. ;-)

There be a slideshow...

of some more snaps added at the bottom :-)

Rainbow Road

*sigh*

I think it might just have to be one game for the night from now on. We'll have to have a poll beforehand or something. :-)

I've plenty of gaffer tape to make sure the chosen game doesn't go walkabouts again.

On a side note, why is no-one talking about how amazing Grammatics were? They were ace!

I would've done...

Only I was too busy mourning the loss of my Mario Kart cartridge, which one light fingered git pinched! :-(

The Verve

I bet 'The drugs don't work' will go down like a treat in the fields of Glasto. ;-)

In your defence

I did win by default, as you potted the black, although I did used to lose regularly to someone who lost at pool to a blind man once.

^

this! although he is much better at dealing with hangovers than you, Rob. :-)

I reckon

Behemoth would win.

I don't know what you mean. The lyrics are brilliant...

Sweat,
sweat
on lips
on lips
on lips
on sweat
on back

Ha!

I think there's some issues

with the scores showing when viewed from the front page

Street Fighter 2

It is then ;-)

No.

It's not harsh

I'm Rob's silent comedy sidekick after all

There were

a couple more projectiles thrown unfortunately. One was definitely a bottle. I couldn't tell you which beverage it once contained though.

I nipped out to the loo just before the encore and a bloke was sat there chatting to a security guard saying:

"It's not that I don't like them. I can listen to them all day on the stereo in my car, but tonight it's just too loud"

Pretty much sums up the problem with some of the 'music fans' you find at packed arena gigs. For me, at least anyway.

too metal?

There's no such thing. ;-)

I've seen tham a couple of times now...

and each time they were great.

That is all. :-)

nothing rocked quite as hard as the gruel though

Those fishballs were spectacular, even more so than my vomit.

No Rust In Peace...

Vortex or Secret Place.

Denied.

they were ace at download though, drawing the biggest crowd of the day, even though they weren't headlining.
