Emerald Silver and Gold?
it's Enterprising Scroggins Girls!
but yeah, seeing them live was a fucking gas and i'm glad i got to.
Pavlov has a lot to answer for.
But not this!
Cool.
haha
how the fuck did smegma get reviewed on here?
i'm far more keen on their rock records, and this isn't their best work by any stretch, but there really isn't much point in reviewing something like this unless you actually do 'get it'. otherwise you're reviewing a style of music.
that's rubbish.
crazy horse was by far the best venue at Nightmare Before Christmas.
she shaved her head?!
pix????
it's leaked and
first impressions are 'WOAH'.
does he not realise
that JFK was largely responsible for Vietnam?
no?
aww man
damn yanks get all the luck
god i love ghostface.
him and springsteen makes sense.
surely
the only hatred should be in relation to their music?
because any opinions that don't relate to their music aren't really relevant, are they?
this kind of thing ^
THEY'RE A FUCKING BAND.
what does their upbringing have to do with anything?
if you don't like the music, you don't like the music.
but to assume that they're cunts worthy of your hate merely because of this fact?
i feel sorry for The Horrors. they're a passable band and i'm not about to go and buy their records but it's refreshing that a young band like them are into The Monks and The Cramps and The Birthday Party. it's better than another band inspired by Oasis.
their image is obviously designed to get them publicity and because they find it fun dressing up.
getting worked up about them is really quite strange i think. are they threatening to you?
i really do find the hatred for the Horrors amusing
so many people are showing themselves to be utterly stupid, narrowminded cunts.
so you'd beat someone up because you don't like their hair or their clothes, would you?
it's the same basic prejudice NF members display.
who else could it be though?
why would you name your band Galaxie 500 when you weren't them?
WHAT'S GOING ON?
"Spook" < "Oblivious"
no it wasn't!
well, the 2nd one was.
but the first was really underrated.
this, however, will BLOW TURDS.
time warp?
also: The Funkin' Site?
i might go
i don't like them on record but live they're a different kettle of fish.
a COD KETTLE.
:(
i adore this record.
all of this stuff came out on CDRs a few years ago, but it still sounds like an album.
plus, he's got a song about having an incontinent grandmother.
there's something really dreamlike about the whole record though, it's got such a strong atmosphere to it all
from last night
they do seem to have a few more good songs to go with this
but i haven't heard the album
they're quite affable really
fun times
yup, tis great
it sounds so very 4AD too.
this record
has both a member of Kasabian and a member of Charalambides on it.
hmm.
bollocks
i'll be in sodding Belgium at sodding Dour >:(...
...:D
i've always hated anticon
they've always been the same as other hiphop labels, never progressing once they have a sound.
i'm not claiming to have heard this particular record, but in general they've always seemed so pleased with themselves.
hip hop is really dying, and it saddens me.
found it on the internet
"Don't Need Smoke..." reminds me loads of Black Flag's "Damaged I".
the UK needs more bands that play this kind of filth.
shit
i didn't know this was out!
i want this baaaaaaaaaaaad.
Joy Shapes is beautiful to me.
it's also psychedelic and folky.
Fortunately
londoners only miss the 3rd place match to see this.
LOL @ CAMBRIDGE!!!11!1!!1!
maybe Gen was right.
maybe they were done for inciting the whales to take revenge.
:O
actually
Beanie is RLY RLY GD
he's certainly not a nice, law-abiding fellow but in terms of making honest, incisive gangsta rap records he's brilliant and that's really the only thing that matters when it comes to the music, no?
i always like his LPs more than i think i will.
you might like color strip more
if you play it at a ridiculously loud volume.
last night has improved it from a 7 to a 9 for me, because i realised there's more to it.
i wish he'd played the scala or cargo or anywhereelsethatwasn'tthesmacktory. for people who know how to publicise things.
i disagree
but i'm obviously unable to sway you here.
i hope i never set foot in the rhythm factory ever again.
there's more to it than that
he has a very distinct sound, and it's 'smoochier' than most techno.
you can slowdance to it, and i think that was very intentional indeed.
plus, he's bordering on 60s french film star level coolness.
i felt a bit guilty not writing a review of him
but i couldn't remember enough of his set to do it justice.
he was great though.
a better alternative:
the new Dudley Perkins LP!
Madlib = genius.
the album is really good
if you like hip hop tinged reggae.
which i do.
i've heard it.
it IS OUCH.
they're so damn FONKAY.

the worst part is
you KNOW the new Wu Tang record's going to suck
plus it doesn't count without Dirt anyway.
