I really like the first album

but what I've heard of the 2nd is pretty Peter Dreary to be honest. More of the same, yet a lot lot worse.

First listen

today and I started off really tempted to throw it into the gutter. Post-White Stripes drivel, and his voice was driving me crackers. I persevered though, and ended up almost in tears. It turns from a ramshackle Detroit boozy jam into one of the most beautiful albums of last year.
