I was so excited about this

but it has been a disappointment. The review is pretty much spot on, I personally would give it a 6 but that's nit picking.

I am however very pleased I resisted the temptation to pay £84 for 2 tickets to see them at Hammersmith. My wallet obviously has more sense than me.

Christ that was poor

she's got a nice arse though.

Joey Belladonna era Anthrax

piss on Alice in Chains from a great height.

As I thought

that 45.33 is probably the weakest record LCD Soundsystem has put out it seems unlikely this is going to set my world on fire. It will do as a stop gap until he gets round to a new record I suppose.

The U2 single is good

but it was always unlikely to get a decent review here.

Odd review

personally I love Violator and Songs... , Playing the Angel was a real return to form. It seems to me every review (even the positive ones) seem to suggest this is one of their weaker efforts. Think I'll keep my cash in my pocket.

Enjoy Motorhead

I saw half their set before being thrown out for smoking (alcohol possibly involved) in Manchester last Friday. They were on fine form. They're at their best as a 3 piece

It took a few listens

but now it's clicked I'm really enjoying this record. I didn't like his voice at first but now I don't think it would work so well with anything else.

Sounds amazing

can't wait

I don't download illegally

but it's not some moral high ground as I'll gladly accept friends making copies of albums for me. Personally I'd rather by the CD or vinyl version. I do subscribe to emusic as well which I tend to use to listen to music that I want to sample without paying full whack for or simply 'cos I'm skint at the end of the month and have enough downloads left to get a couple of new albums.

Also I think it may be a generation thing as I am wary of the internet in a way that people in their teens and early twenties simply aren't.

Let's put cynacism aside just for one minute

I first visited around the time of 2.0 and I'm still here several times a day. You must be doing something right!

Happy Birthday

It's a good album

not great and truth be told not what I'd generally listen to. Whilst it's not exactly on heavy rotation, every time I listen to it, it grows on me some more

That didn't particularly strike me as a 7 /10 review

but I'm possibly being a bit picky. I'd agree with the conclusion that they're more of a singles band these days. They never really fulfilled their potential did they?

Have ordered the CD + download

it better piss all over Weekend in the City.

^ I went to the Leeds leg

It was bloody great.

I'm glad somebodies not reforming for a change

perhaps a few other bands could follow this example and not reform.

Donnington 91

AC / DC, Metallica, Motley Crue, Queensryche and the Black Crowes. I was 19 and 4 rows from the front for Metallica. AC DC were so good that night they immortalised it on DVD to prove it. Never been to a better gig or festival before or since.

good article

'music for the jilted generation', 'second toughest in the infants' and 'leftism'. As a rocker converted to beats around the early nineties those three albums are the holy trinity of dance. I only have to hear the opening few bars of Voodoo People and I'm back in a field, pilled off me bonce, gurning like a fool.

I have 8 of their albums

to some this may seem excessive, to me each one is genius (although some more than others)

Help! I don't 'get' Mastodon

Theoretically I should love 'em. I bought the two highly rated albums and I still don't see it. Is there something wrong with me? Am I not completely metal anymore?

It's blatantly not their first live action for eight years

Perhaps it is their first world tour for eight years.

So 2 min plus of old 'glories'

20 sec of new album. They don't really help themselves do they?

Bloody Hell

The Master of Puppets double is on HMV for £22. This won't be good for my bank account.

I've already got the Kill 'em All version

on the Music for Nations label. The advantage of the 2 disc, 45rpm is that it makes it really loud. Just as it should be.

Underworld rule

All the above is true and I'll throw in 'one of the best live bands you'll ever see' as well. Seen them a few times and they consistently blow my mind.

I'll be buying this

I've turned up to the Biffy party late and this seems a good way of catching up on what I've missed. I agree the review points to a better mark than 6 though.

It's good

without being spectacular. Solid, in summary.

Not that I was there

but i can imagine. I've seen both sides of Primal Scream live. When they're good, they're very good. But when they're bad...

Also MC5 are hugely overrated aren't they?

Nearly bought tickets for this, looks like a lucky escape.

Download has been great in the past

but this years line up is really poor.

Got tickets for Manchester

Can't wait. I saw them the first time round and they were amazing.

I have an opinion on that

it's really poor.

Peter Kember

Educated guess

possibly not the greatest..

..but certainly consistently worth listening to and one of the greatest live bands you'll ever see. Personally I've liked every phase of their career, even the much maligned 'give out...'
