...

it just deserves to die.

I guess the bigger artists just add credence to the whole thing

I doubt it would have as much of an impact if bands on smaller labels were demanding it. It might be common practice among smaller labels, as John_Brainlove mentions below but maybe if an artist signs to a major they have to give up certain rights. I think it's good that someone is looking out for future artists if anything.

:'( R.I.P

Gutted.

I stuck some Isaace Hayes on the pub juke box tonight and nearly punched a guy for slagging him off.

We got

Mono, baby.

Sweet.

I will be in attendance.

hear hear

Foals

who haven't even released their first album?
Why are people so eager to write off bands before they've even established themselves? That's one major reason that no contemporary artist will stand the test of time.

Where the hell can you buy this in an HMV?

I'm sure it's in there somewhere in a couple of the big stores but having worked there as a temp over Christmas, most of this stuff doesn't even exist to a lot of people.
Oh great, you've got Battles, Panda Bear, Grinderman and Les Savy Fav in your top 20 but WHERE ARE THEY IN YOUR PIECE OF SHIT STORES! Fucking cunts.

I'm working.

Bollocks.

They Came From The Stars, I Saw Them

I really do love this band.

A few of my favourites

are in your "just missed out" list:

The Icarus Line, Six Organs, Besnard Lakes.

Also, a couple of late ones too, the Dillinger is awesome and the Yeasayer album I heard the other day, fuck me that's a cracker.

The only one you missed out that I'd definitely put in was the Magik Markers album, totally fried my brain that one.

I'll think of others (as I'm sure you have) but I think it's a pretty fair list you've made.

At the Chapman Bros ATP

They were very good but it was quite some time ago so I'd like to see what they're like now. It was overwhelmingly good, so much so that I had to sit down with my head in my hands and just bask in the waves of sound (I wasn't "of sober mind").

You're correct

But you'll only be seeing Portishead once so no queue (I hope). Aphex will be another matter altogether but the ambience will be worth the wait.

sex wee in my pants

You will find me bouncing off walls, slumped in corners and basking in drones all weekend.
What a real shame the Horrors clash with Glenn Branca, sorry boys but you were never in it at all for me.
I will have to study this more in depth to see if there are any real clash problems. Damo and Boris makes me cry but hopefully one stage will be running late or something.

Dude's entitled to his opinion and everything

but that review was toss.

This album is

awesome.

Seeing Chasny and Ambrogio at Green Man was a life affirming moment for me. Hearing it on record is no less affecting.

I can't wait for ATP

these are a particular highlight.

This brings back bad memories

The first one made Christmas very difficult in Fopp Oxford last year. This looks just as enticing.

Couldn't disagree more

considering they are four in number, all really nice and play awesome songs. Unstoppable Kite is a great track.

Yay!

Another good album hopefully.

Great album

'Last of Lemach Line' is astonishing, I listened to that track alone for about a week.

Nooooooo!

That's a shame. I haven't seen Twinkie in ages though so it's worth pottering down to. I assume the Reynolds myspace will let us know the goings on of the rescheduled gig?

Woe Colossus?

What were they like?

Good review

I am guilty of enjoying their other albums but you made this album sound as good as it is and will hopefully encourage sceptics to take a risk. A very rewarding risk should you take it.

ATP set was awesome

I remember leaving and not being able to talk for ages, totally blew me away. At one point my ribcage was rattling, I thought I was going to fall apart. And then it was Lightning Bolt afterwards. Mind fuck.

Yeah anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing them again. No pain, no gain and all that.

Hehe, flange.

All I can say is

about bloody time. Korn next please.

^^^

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

"Pub, anyone?"

Yes, good idea.

ho hum

You say male escort (for other men) like it's a bad thing...go on, admit it, you dig it really.

Lightning Lewis

He was awesome at Green Man wasn't he? I was so happy when I saw him in the programme. Did you see him on the hill next to the Hall that evening? Lovely man.
