Compared to seeing them live, it was always going to be a bit duller (the first time I saw them made me think LCD Soundsystem had invited Begbie into the band)...

...but it just seems to have no life to it at all, it bored me. So I took it back to Fopp, having 'sucked it and seen' as their posters say. Swapped it for Tiger Force & an eighth of Midlake.*

*officially a new drugs euphemism

...they just came up trumps for us - we had organised a gig at an art gallery, which cancelled with 4 days to go... but Fopp at Tottenham Court Road are putting it on this Saturday, the wee gems that they are!!!

So please, please come along and buy lots of their CDs and drinks from the bar and that... it's a brilliant line up, details here:

...being that state beside Michigan that Sufjan wrote a hard-to-find EP about. Wot, you've not heard it..?

...and I thought it was just me, that's reassuring - I just didn't really get into it. 'Illinoise' I love to pieces, and after repeated listening 'Avalanche' is very much growing on me. Especially Springfield, even with the overly taxing discordant solo, and 'The mind that knows itself'.

...I got handed to review last night, listening now, I'm very impressed I have to say.
