Good on old Marc.

I'd have sex in the 60's, as long as the ladies shaved back then, hairy women aint nice. No offence.

ha ha ha

yeah... i live in london, moved here from the midland sticks 6 months ago, and i get semi-disappointed when a band doesn't play here... but then i think, CHRIST - there are great gigs on every night, so quit bitching!... i hope i dont end up like all the other londoners, all self important etc. I still head back up to stoke (Sugarmill) to watch bands play. i'm willing to travel for the music i love... and screw petty londonders who moan that a band doesnt play on their doorstep. here here! go to cambridge, it's like 1/2 hour away.

yeaaah...

it's almost as though they're popular with angular students. still undecided about this band... seen 'em a few times and i love his voice, so natural and yet manly, but all their songs are the same. heard a new one at leeds fest which blew my socks off though, sounded like one of those tracks you've known your whole life, like 'pretty good year' by duels.

booooo...

news and tributes was a massive step forward, the heads will be around a lot longer yet... they're always changing, growing up... like radiohead or pixies. also, i'd look out for duels... man have they progressed!

to be fair...

...most bands release singles that later appear on their albums and are released under the albums wind.

kubichek haven't released the same single under the same label twice though... different labels. and if you just signed them, wouldn't you want to put out 'nightjoy'! yeah, i think you would.

this band is like futureheads meets bloc party, if i was writing for the nme, and i just love 'em. there's another fact.

indeed...

if you myspace search it, there's loads of battle and battles, and i shouldn't say it... ya never know who's reading, but battles are better than battle. tragic fact.

anyone else...

anyone else think that foals are the most importnt people to hold guitars since the beatles?... i sure do.

well...

...they're not reeeeeally gone, they already have a new sound and a new name, which i probably can't say yet... let's just say they'll be on the ball and the olympics will suit 'em well. tee hee.

love these guys and love stoke on beats. sugarmill baby, yeah.

oh...

electric socks, uh-ow-oh, oh electric socks... yeah! love this band, love this single, love the the b-side even more, love the album (what bits i've heard), love yan, love trans, love DiS, love life, love lamp.

you did know that...

young knives are in there, right. i love, to death, the bfl lp, and jamie t is among my most played right now, however the young knives are just so special, and not in a big yellow bus way. tyk all the way baby. woop woop. x

who said

... the gig wasn't meant to be secret anyway. it's an intimae show, but it's never been billed as 'secret'... who said secret besides the lovely chaps at DiS? did the band say it?

anyway... secret's out. ha. wish i could go, really fucking do, but i'm off up to leeds festival. woop woop. x

becasue

he's jesus in man-shape... at least what he says actually makes sense, in a poetic way... a lot more than the bible anyway. the bible, ha... one sentence missing from the start reads: "this is a work of fiction".

well...

it's not the same address that's listed on rockfeedback?... erm.. try thebasement@rockfeedback.com, well, that's what all young lovers do anyway. tee hee.

now now...

the maccabees are one of the uks best live bands right now... and if that's not bloody special, well i don't know what is...

yey

i'm so glad i'm not going now... he was gonna b my highlight... well, along with james, editors and happy mondays... but i can them any time. much more excited about leeds... how often do you get to see smashing pumpkins?... like, never. get the fuck in!

hum...

bright eyes, or conor at least, offer very hit n mis performances anyway, so you can alway kid yerself that the dates he's pulled out of were the ones that were going to shit anyway. although, they could have been the truly legandary ones... like that great shep bush show on july 4th. he's one of those guys you ahve expect this stuff from, like doherty... but when you finally get him on stage and on form, it's worth the bother, it really truly is. x

well...

it's about time you had some 4 or 5 love on here. Granted you've waited to see if their rough (oh so rough but incredible) demo material 'made it' or not... but still, great to see the guys up here.

"Always scrapin' by, Tesco value 'til I die". Lyric of the year.

Big, big love to the DiS for spitting out some Magician-ness. Peace be with you guys. xxx

i hate...

razorlight so much. the smug arrogance of their self prolaimed importance makes me feel sick. he wants to be bono, i say let him. nice one jon. x

...

Walk in silence
Don't walk away in silence
See the danger, always danger
Endless talking, life rebuilding
Don't walk away

Goodnight Tony. x

i fucking love...

the hives. one of the, nay... THE, best live band that's played london in the past few months. they are so hard, steadfast and angry, yet their songs are so sexily 1960s esque pop. argh, oh how i love them. was 50/50 myself on the t'land track, but it's growing.

Whiskas is a ...

LEGEND... love this label, love Leeds, love the Taste, love the Detectives, love Burst Into Flames, love FRussia... I will love this so much I will accidently poop myself. xxx

This guy is good...

...at doing an impression of Patrick Wolf. I take it that's his thing right, he's a Wolf impressionist... he is very good at it, all honest like. He tries really hard to be Patrick Wolf so credit where due...

...oh, he's being serious. Oh. Woops.

British Sea Power...

...are so unbelievably awe-inspiring live i almost (that's almost) wish i lived there. still... lodestar awaits. woop woop.

i think...

bsp are bloody ace. i love some breaks too, but the bsp are darn right fantastic. saw them for the first time at great escape and never looked back. can't wait til lodestar festival... woop woop.

ace review btw... great wee writer aren't cha. bless.

no way...

the muslims are offended?... no, i don't believe you... really? man, i'm shocked. the muslims of all people. tut, tut, what is the world coming to when the good ol' peaceful muslims have sand in their vaginas about something so trivial... tut, tut.

thought t' be fair... i can't stand gwen... topless or not. her tits are bananas, b.a.n.a.n.a.aaaaaaas.

both are...

completely ace house... battle are funky retro and kubichek made me burn holes in all 23 pairs of my dancing shoes with that 'not enough night' carry on a few months ago.

'just shut it down' is so hard and fast it makes me squark like a little school girl... love that 'chek!... woof woof. canny savage them like.

ha ha

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... boring? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... wtf?... OK... wow, you know your stuff obviously...

go and listen to some more !!! or whatever trash you class as 'music'.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...

erm...

what a pile o' old pants... i caught the hives 100 club show the day before and it was easily one of the best gigs of my life. their music is fast, hard, tuneful, grungy, edgy, poppy... what's not to love. anybody that knows and loves rock 'n' roll can see that the hives are changing music by doing the opposite to what's preceeded them. the new stuff is great and if you don't get their humour, that's your problem, not theirs... they are truly one of the world best live bands and after these recent london shows, my favourite.

when there's nothing left to burn...

download this, eh.

am I wrong to...

...like Klaxons? When they came out circa 2005 I really loved them. So fresh and bubbly. Made me love anything retro. Then they became Klaxons the chart-toppers and I have since lost interest. Not becuase they're successful... I'm not a pretentious indie kid... but becuse I've had them shoved down my kneck every day for the past year and I'm bored of them and have since come to realise that they're not that good. OK, but not great.

And certainly no Foals... aka the reason guitars exist.

transitory...

yeah... like that one don't you. x

mmm... i saw...

Foals in Camden at NW1, Camden Crawl thing...

Hate to say it... but... best gig of my life. Easily. Wow. Electricity man.

Electric Shocks indeed!...

yeah but...

it's still great. the 18 min version that i have secretly hidden away on vinyl (yes folks, vinyl - yum)is still played by me to anybody that has time for a cuppa' at my office.

"...how much?" classic rakes.
