damn!!

my best friend saw them in New York and told me to go see them as they were amazing - but as she likes Razorlight and Maroon 5 I filed her advice away in the "ignore pointedly" cabinet. I'm now wishing a friend who's opinions on music I respect had told me to go see them....

Rozi Plain is wonderful

go see her!!!

....

I saw him in 2005 at the Colston Hall in Bristol - he was ace - surprised you hadn't heard of him really....

yeah, as you recognise, your criticisms about there being too much jazz is rather odd - he is first and foremost a jazz musician and has never really claimed to be otherwise...

...

I haven't heard it. unless it was playing in bar and I didn't notice.

or Mika, or the new kaiser Chiefs. in fact I haven't knowingly heard any of those songs mentioned above...

my bubble rules!

...

I think somebody makes a crack about Rose Kemp in the comments under every single article on Rose on this site.

great to see that fine tradition being upheld!!

...

I was listening to this the other day. Did anyone else think that some of the vocal phrasings/melodies were total rip offs of "Alarm Call" by Bjork?

...

there was another good review of the tour here:
http://www.roomthirteen.com/cgi-bin/tour_set.cgi?SetID=3667

nah

you should still go - he's a superb performer - if you can leave your cynicism at the door you'll love it
actually it's worth going just to see the genius that is Chip Bailey at work on drums and percussion duties.

...

it was released on an old EP and I think on an old album (which was actually just two EPs stuck together)...

I don't like the new version at all

...

yeah UR were great - they did the first 8 dates...

the last 5 dates of the tour she's being joined (literally) by 7 hertz - www.myspace.com/the7hertzband - and will be playing consequently be playing a very different set

...

oooo!! I was given this rather randomly in brighton but haven't listened to it yet - will have to dig it out...

....

drool....

...

she was probably there to see if it was worth filing a lawsuit for plaigarism... ;-)

...

pay it no mind me babber, don't matter where she too does it? cheers writes

...

well that just sucks: when it reaches the stage where a musician *wants* to write music deliberately calculated to please the audience, rather than just writing what they want to write and hoping listners like it.

with that kind of attitude who needs major label sales targets?

..

I'm currently employing Mr Bugs to run a series of workshops for hard-to-reach kids in Bristol, building various circuit-bent devices. miraculously so far I'm the only person to have burnt themself with the soldering iron.

he's a legend and his machines and albums are ace. his website is also very, very cool.

...

I put them on in Bristol last sunday. they were absolutely awesome. this review is pretty on the money too, though I'm be tempted to give them a bonus point for the artwork - it is sublime!! well impressed that such a young label was prepared to spend so much on packaging for what it a rather niche release but it's totally worth it....

...

they are playing in Bristol this weekend - at the Junction on Stokes Croft

...

don't think it was ever meant to be funny. personnally I never paid much attention to Liam's antics (after the first gig) as I was usually too busy dancing like a loon. that bunch wrote some awesome tunes

...

fucking shitty bollocks.... so gutted they split up. one of my favourite bands ever

...

agreed. live he is superb (especially when he has Chip Bailey with him) but the recordings just scream "Radio 2 playlist"

..

I love pieminster. It's based in Bristol, not 3 minutes from the major gig venues. Bristol rules.

...

yeah she's pretty bummed - she's had to cancel her Bristol date tomorrow as well...

...

great piece. you were ace at VENN

..

tickets on sale Dec 11th? woah!!!

...

awesome tune!! I had the same thing after seeing him once to - my girlfriend and I used to run along singing the chorus to "and you note"

...

'tis true: Bristol's got a very supportive scene. I just wished they turned up in such numbers to every gig I do!!!

...

Bilge Pump rock the cock.

going for the friday but can't stay the weekend (another band needs my Van for a European tour the next day) - going to be ace though!!

Immune are fucking cool too...

it's so good...

to see Kate Stables (aka This Is The Kit) doing so well - she really is a fabulous songwriter/performer and charming as well...

rubbish

same weekend as Ashton Court :-(

everyone go see Twocsinak - he's the business

Rose Kemp is playing with him...

...in Italy - so he's getting about a bit! bummed there's no bristol date...

cool review Rachel

thanks for coming along. The tour was loads of fun and I have both Rose and Jeremy's songs stuck in my head permenantly.

funny, I think Cardiff was one Rose's best nights for EP sales (11) on the tour...

great review Rachael...

fanks!!! it was a very fun gig...

Das Wanderlust were on a little tour - Bath, Bristol, Brighton & Cardiff... and they were the most charming bunch of people I've had the pleasure to put on and put up...

they were poor

when they supported Deerhoof.
one big yawn

Alexander Tucker

is massively overrated - I've seen him twice and both times came to the conclusion that there's at least three people doing the same thing as him (but better and in a more interesting way) in bristol alone.

what about...

...the rest of the acts? An Emergency are fucking awesome!!

pet hate on mine no1: reviewers who don't acknowledge the existence of support acts

i love

the Luminaire.... run by a total gent

Leicester date

he'll also be at The Charlotte in Leicester on Sunday 16th...

tour support comes from Rose Kemp
