exactly...

.. and a nation yawns!

I'm sure most of the these bands are part of Universal, all of which have very close(almost corrupt) links with the BBC. Jeez, it's enough to make you sound like a Daily Maily reader campaigning for the abolishment of the license fee.

Terrible name for a band.....

Why name yourself the same as someone who had mainstream chart hits the previous decade?

You've only got to type Felix into Spotify to know there are already two artists before this lot with the name Felix.

i always thought...

88-92 was the best era for music, killed off by Nirvana and then Oasis. As soon as the record companies smell money they destroy things.

Surprisingly good selection of tunes, I thought the Kaisers would have been Britpop fans.

they are getting a lot of stick from me...

for releasing an album packed with filler tracks. half-formed songs with terrible lyrics. they offered so much with the debut single aswell.

shame as on paper they should be fantastic, their influences are perfect.

i can't help but think they are this decades kula shaker.

for me....

this interview kinda reminds me what primal scream are/were about. the reason there's been so much hate for them lately is coz they went all corporate.

when i saw bobby gillespie at glastonbury being abusive about other bands and at the same time they were making such awful, awful music like 'country girl' you just think "wanker".

i hope this album is a return to form.

grow up?

what's that got to do with anything?

if foals, mystery jets and bsp had made decent albums i'd agree this was a good list, but it's not, it is dull.

agree,

what a boring start to a list. looks like one of them hmv adverts in the nme.

i agree

the only thing better than that is Gok's World at Dorothy Perkins.

no reviews either for....

spiritualzed, wedding present & sennen.

all good albums that came out this month.

i agree...

although he takes on a whole new twist as a 'personality dj' in that he doesn't have a personality.

I'm an old git in his 30's...

..and I have to say I agree with a lot of this article. I find The Clash and all the journalists who go on about Joe Strummer, etc... dull as dishwater.

I saw The Ramones live once, they were ok but nowhere near as good say Orbital were live, when I saw Holy Fuck a few weeks ago they had loads more energy that the Ramones did. Obviously any 30/40 something journalist would say this is nonsense as it wouldn't sell papers. You only have to see the amount of townies around in Ramones t-shirts to know it's just a fashion thing, I'll bet 80% of them don't own a record by the band.

I particularly loath Alan McGee's blog on The Guardian which is not even written by him. I'm sure he comes up with the idea though, this week it was Acid House. Great, you are such a revolutionary Alan with your regurgitated Punk ideals which always lead you to talk about sales figures (not very punk-rock). You've been a bore since 1992 now fuck off!

agree

x 1 billion.

third series was very poor.

this festival will be full of wannabe scenesters like field day last year. no thanks!

how would you like it....

if your boss turned round to you and said "i'm not gonna pay you for your work this month, don't worry, i'll pay you next month?"

you'd be properly fucked off and rightly so.

tell me what's the difference between not paying for recorded work just because you'll pay to see a band play live and this. someone has spent months/years working on a recording, surely they should be paid for it.

what about all the labels that spend all their money on recording costs, manufacturing & marketing? most of the stuff you download is not put out by universal but some small label paid for out of someones own pocket. these labels will be few and far between soon.

same here...

if any other one-day festival had that line-up i'd buy a ticket in a second but there's no way i'm gonna subject myself to this even if if they've doubled the bar size and number of toilets.

so only a 30-40 min queue for a drink or the bog. wow!

last years was worse than the V festival.

hopefully the field will play some other dates whilst he's over here.

"He went on to laud the Manic Street Preachers and Oasis for being ‘people’."

Crikey, he's a dull fella. He spouts boring cliche after boring cliche. Anyone would think it's 1996 the way he carries on.

...and his band are even shitter than The Stereophonics.

4 or 5 bands for £50 with planning!!!!

Most of these bands you can see for a fiver still and you won't have to queue.

I think the idea of the camden Crawl is great but the reality is it's a pile of shit for the paying punter. Unless you know the right people (ie. on the guestlist) you are treated like cattle and probarly won't be seeing a lot of bands you want to see.

i don't think the main issue is with the playlist...

it's the fact that george lamb talks between the songs.

the content of his links is beyond words, a 12 year old would find it funny but they are at school. to see how backwards it is have a read of his 'lingo' page.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/georgelamb/lambys_lingo.shtml

no wonder 6music is going to the dogs...

this is the woman in charge...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2007/jul/09/mediatop1002007.mondaymediasection8

if anyone wants to email her and complain about the show her address is lesley.douglas@bbc.co.uk

this record shines on the radio...

makes a nice change from all the boring post-punk bands at the moment.

i thought that...

it reads like a good review then you look at the score and it doesn't make sense.

i watch tv and listen to the radio...

but i still love sigur ros and 'takk'.

i only agree with one line of this review "Hvarf-Heim is a supplementary release". Well, yes it was never meant to be a full follow-up to 'takk'.

after seeing the hilarious thread 'does anyone still like sigur ros?' the other week we should have expected this kind of "i'm cooler than you" review.

well, all the following users on here gave them a 10/10 rating....

i'd still like to go and see them live...

but the last tour was so expensive there was absolutely now way i was going to go.

if they wanna get people going to their gigs again maybe they could just charge less...

"fuck off and chill out."

nice!

it's funny how all the people who think this event was good either write for DiS or are teenagers so it's probarly their first festival.

remember....

most people also had to pay to actually get on the site.

psychedelic summer fete my arse! if it had rained it would have been finished by 4pm.

no... you can't fault the line-up. but,

the pa was fucking awful on most of the stages.

i don't think people are over reacting.

did you have shares or a backstage pass in this festival by any chance? coz a few beers and access to a bog would have pacified everyone i think.

jdesmond..

are you charley from big brother?

the first time i heard this song on the radio...

i knew exactly what it was, and that's not a compliment.

i said to the guy i share an office with "this is that girl who's being touted as the new lily allen" and i was right.

totally predictable record label rubbish.

No...

Dick Green runs Witchita.

you forgot to mention...

the others.

no they were bad!

his single may be rubbish....

but he's right, bloc party are dogshit.

quite enjoyed the 1st album but the latest batch of songs are very poor.

anyone who describes them as the best band in the whole of the civilized world is either deaf or very easily satisfied.

what does...

"they're so far behond dis already" mean?

I'm guessing you mean they are too big for drowned in sound, anyone can BUY the level of success they have at the moment if you've got the cash.

seriously, i had never heard anything by this band until friday morning at work when 6music played their single, we both stopped working in my office and looked at each other to ask "what's this rubbish?" then he said who it was.

i'm actually tempted to say that from the one song i've heard this lot make kasabian seem good... now that is bad!

it adds a whole new meaning...

to the phrase scratch and sniff, scratch and vomit more like!

did anyone read...

the review of this on channel 4 teletext today? the guy who wrote it is a clueless idiot.

without a doubt....

the worst live band i have seen in years. haven't even given the 2nd album a glance after witnessing how bored they looked on stage, why they bothered to even walk on stage i don't know?

wembley would be an ideal venue to see them, at least you can go for a stroll outside the main room to avoid them (and keane).

The real question is....

Is the Camden Crawl shitter than the V Festival for being a pile of crap?

Both look great on the adverts but the reality is awful, the paying public is merely there to subsidise the event for record labels!

Yeh....

£27 to stand in a queue outside various venues for two days sounds a right bargain!

yep....

i've got a cd single of indian rope also, it was reissued in 1991 on cd although was a vinyl only when it first came out. it was also released on the cd version of one of those indie top 20 albums about the same time.

i think you'll find...

the bands best album was only 5 years ago. wonderland was a real surprise, much better than tellin' stories which loads of people seem to rate due to the fact they were fashionable then.

i did think about getting this but only HMV had it in stock and wanted £16.99, probarly put it on my christmas list.

how about pete burns and dead or alive?

if not, it should be ulrich schnauss or sennen.

what...????

are you mental? televise are great.

yes...

no Norwich date but a date in Chatham!!!

Has anyone ever been to Chatham? Good luck with that one....

oh dear....

i hope they pay you well for trying to promote this rubbish.

by the way, no record this bland has ever rocked!

so are you from...

their press company or their record label? this record is one stinking turd. you can get trevor horn to polish it for you but it's still a turd.

i cannot honestly understand anyone liking this record on musical terms, it's bland beyond belief, it actually makes razorlight seem somehow acceptable.

agree, but....

it's not as bad as calling your band keith or milburn.

now they are dull names.

does anyone....

...over the age of 12 still listen to radio 1?

hopefully it'll go the same way as top of the pops, utter waste of time.

This is one of...

...the most vile records ever.

It reminds of that hit Sharon and Kelvin from Eastenders had in the mid 80's.

i can believe it....

fuck me, you like funeral for a friend and A!
