People took Jonze's email to mean the NME sensationalised his interview, but according to Jonze, they toned it down. Both sides seem to be coming out of this quite badly.

I know what the intention/joke is. My point is... why bother? At least make a better joke.

Even by the tenuous quality of most NME.com stories it was flimsy. Reporting it second-hand is just a bit sad, really. I know decent music news dries up this time of year, but some quality control would be nice.

This is very similar to the story about a 'Songs for the Deaf' album playback that was attended by several deaf people expecting some exciting new technology.

I hope ‘It’s My Fault for Being Famous’ isn't another example of Jack White whining about celebrity. I had enough of that on the last album.

Centre column too narrow, text too small, sections poorly defined, blahblahblah. Having to scroll to reach the new reviews could have a negative effect on the number of page views. Seems like a backwards step to me.

What is a 'merit' award? An award for generally deserving an award? The 'thanks for trying' award? Maybe they're admitting he deserves an award but know their readers won't vote for him.

the facilities last year were much improved. Still not as good as they should be, admittedly. And every year they keep trying to squeeze more people in than it can take.

for Ash, writing radio hits IS natural. It's what they're best at. And this is another great example of that.

I was all excited at the closeness of that date, but then realised that April 6th is a Friday. The Wichita website has the date listed as June 4th - you got the 4 and the 6 the wrong way round.
