wow, way to kill all my excitement to hear this!

fair enough though.
I'll see how I feel after I've listened to the whole thing (only heard one track so far and liked it...)

excellent

must have been a couple of years since I saw them. Earplugs at the ready.

nice one

"We are going to try to play a good mix of all the records, with an emphasis on STWHA."
sounds good to me.
made me excited for the Manchester gig. As if I wasn't already excited enough!

nevermind

jus saw another story saying they go onsale Friday.

is this onsale

now?
can't see any reference on the PCL site. GAH!

premature hit of the return key there

Get Up Kids seem to hate Scotland is what the rest should have said.
I don't know if I'll be able to go, will need to take three days off work (due to where my deadlines fall if I take the Tuesday for Manchester I'll need to take Monday and Wednesday too).

yep

OH MAN

Will have to make a trip to Manchester, Birmingham or London.

sounds nice

but aye, I'm not going to pay £120 for albums which I already own.

Looking forward to hearing it

Really pleased to see some dates! They were fantastic the last time they played Glasgow.

woo 9/10?!

Enjoyed the review, makes me more excited. I haven't done the download as my computer's broke just now so I will be rushing to buy on Monday...

He'll go on making stuff some way

Although I love NIN I don't think it's too sad - good innings and all that. Would like to see them again but as said above, getting tickets will probably be a challenge. Have to keep an eye out on those dates!

yeah

got to say I disagreed with that posing comment too. I think Franz are all about having fun and silly dancing. The poses are just for their videos.
I know I heard some of these when I saw them this summer but I'm not sure which ones they were. "More disco" would be quite apt from what I remember.

nice

I like the album, saw them at a Chemikal Underground night not long ago and it was even better live - noisier.

"the absence of soaring and searing riffs"

is my only big problem with the album because I spent most of the tracks waiting for some to come in - but I did really enjoy it. And more so on a second listen.
I think it will continue to grow on me.

I quite enjoyed their set

when they supported Sons and Daughters, they were fun.
I will wait and see what the album's like.

cool

I really like the other albums and looking forward to a new one. His shows are always good fun as well.

good job

I like the album but I was getting really bored of hearing about him left, right and centre so this livened it up again for me!

I liked the bit about being in Omaha - sounds like so much fun. It's good listening out for Tim Kasher's voice on the album.

yay!

I'd like this. I can't see how much the tickets are anywhere yet so will have to see on Friday that they're not too expensivo.

good stuff

I'll be getting the rarities one anyway. Some of those tracks are great.
I really like Eels live shows - I've seen E in both a very bad and very good mood but they've always played really well. He did almost have a fit one time because no one would be quiet so that Butch could sing, but at the other end he's always willing to do a few encores and once ran in through the crowd slapping people's hands.

nice one

I'd like to see them

good review

I love this album. I don't really think it's that much of a change in style though - there's not any screaming, but I think they've always done songs like this, they've just not been as prominent before.
Anyway, that's not really the point, the point is I think it's excellent. I'm so glad too because they're one of my favourite bands and they have yet to disappoint me.

very, very special?

Yay - Scottish dates to be added shortly. I'd like that.

brilliant

Yeah, i think that's cool. I'm lucky that I live somewhere they always play (Glasgow) but it's rotten when bands do that.
Hoping they keep some of the rarer songs that they played in August in their set - Can't Even Breathe was sooo good.

exactly

I second this YAY!

Cool

I don't want to read it all yet because I'd rather just get to listen when it's out... but I am a bit more excited now!
Team Sleep album I thought would have been a million times better if they'd just limited the number of bloody tracks on it.

ah well

as much as I think this is sad news, I can understand what they've said.
it was great while it lasted. Will be nice to see them one last time - will have to make sure I get a ticket.

well

I like her. And live especially! the last time I saw her it was greatness.

gutted

I liked them a lot.

I could only

find Dublin tickets. On Ticketmaster. They were a worrying €52 - don't know what that will equate to in pounds, but !
But if Mogwai support it would be very worthy. and if pitchshifter support my boyfriend will cry - the two favourite bands of his youth united...

If this means Deathkill 4000 is cancelled

in the Glasgow Barfly, then I will cry cry cry.
I really will.

"Kevin has left."

booo!

but yay on the other news.

"It's not his debut UK show, is it?"

Dunno if this counts, but he came on stage with NERD at their MTV aftershow in Edinburgh a few years back.

Yup.
"sexyback"? hmmm...

That's the worst

T on the Fringe lineup I've seen. I'm well disappointed.

aww, nasty

I don't think they're poo but am nervous of going to see them because, well, from seeing them on tv or whatever it's embarrasingly like watching your dad trying to be hip. With Barney in his massive, massive white trainers.

Temptation live would be awesome though.

this might

be good.. but i think the mono date would sell out pretty fast.
At least you'd know it was all going to be slow, not like at an Idlewild gig when I spend most of the time wishing they'd play old stuff or do something exciting.

I like Fatherfucker

tho I'd agree it's not a patch on the first album. This sounds good.

the glasgow one

is about £17.50 I believe.

Rid of Me

it's not there but this will still be greatness.

This was announced

a-g-e-s ago. Just to be snide.

Shame about birmingham sir. I think it'll all sell out eventually.

I'm going to the edinburgh date of Dresden Dolls and possibly Glasgow depending on the cash - long story.
Should be good as they are doing proper Dolls shows this time, with extra circus-y performers before them. Last time the drummer didn't even come.

ehhhdinburgh

I'm in two minds. On one hand, amazing live... but on the other, I really don't think I wanna see Radiohead in a stadium. It just seems.. wrong.

And I can't travel to any of the others as I have exams and deadlines and wah.

thing is

I really do love Roddy's voice. So I could probably love a folk side project.
As for Idlewild themselves - if they go back to more rocky times that'd be good, but only if it sounded unforced. But I'd be happy just to hear the older songs that do get played, played like their supposed to be. The half arsed "you just have to be who you are" of the last few tours upsets me.

Awesome.

Triptych always has a great lineup, but this one looks very nice indeed.

pricey..

but I'm so at the Glasgow show. I've not seen them so it must be done.

Cool!

they were a good live band. I've never heard "forward" though..

Excellent!

I do love the cello, but it will no doubt be very good anyway. And hopefully they will tour it..

Cool

I'll probably try and go to the Glasgow gig. I've only seen them once and they were very good, so hopefully it will stick...

same date as Death Cab?

boohiss.
I don't have a ticket for that, mind, and I dunno if it's sold out since being moved to the Barras. Would like to see Stellastarr* again, tho. In Edinburgh last year they played great but the crowd was terrible.

To w'eeze or not to w'eeze: Weezer to split?

At the end of the Edinburgh gig in August Rivers said something along the lines of "we might never come back here"- I can't remember what it was exactly...

Arab Strap: Tour Dates in Full

huzzah! King Tuts. I've missed Arab Strap so many times for stupid reasons, will be a good 'un, if Malcolm's solo gigs are anything to go by..
