Volker!

I'm saving up for this.

Bought 'Wintermusik' with my xmas money and immediately fell in love with it. I think the Bells will be a bit more accessible (no 20min songs!) and I think that'll be very welcome to these ears.

Love the artwork.

Might buy it for that alone!

Where's the bass?

There's no bass!

Wow.

One week to wait! Good review - and I say that having not heard the record - really whets your appetite for it.

Wut?

That promo artwork is incredible! Why they'd choose instead the tired minimalist cover is beyond me.

Personal Faves

1. Portico Quartet - Isla
2. Animal Collective - MPP
3. Wild Beasts - Two Dancers
4. The Whitest Boy Alice - Rules
5. The Horrors - Primary Colours
6. Tyondai Braxton - Central Market
7. HEALTH - Get Color
8. Krazy Baldhead - The B-Suite
9. Turzi - B
10. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca

Let's Wrestle's came close...surely gonna be in the DiS top 4, no?

I might save this

or print it out and hide it in my MPP sleeve so that I might forget about it and rediscover it in twenty years time to remind me why I liked the record. LOVE IT.

I am frothing at the mouth.

That is all.

Frenchness:

more Frenchness please!

Just 'This is our Lot'

but I managed to rip the video (sadly only the audio worked...) but did manage to convert it to a decent mp3. People can PM me if they want a copy.

Cheers for this!

Great selection and brilliantly informative.

I too give my thanks.

These reviews have been excellent.

I've always thought however that Tour de France Soundtracks would be the one record that didn't really need updating -- it sounds pretty damn fresh already. Has it been improved?

Ditto of a ditto.

Another great review (another genius record).

Oh no!

I wasn't going to get this remaster.....but now I must! The thought of the "flowing electro-symphony of perfect overlapping repetitions" (nice work there) at the end of 'Neonlicht' sounding BETTER is just too intriguing.

Good review, but

what I want to know are the differences between the remastered and the original records - are they palpable, are they an improvement? Knowing Kraftwerk, they probably are, but should that not be discussed in a review of a remastered record?

Anyone

heard any of the songs when they played them live? What are they like?

I don't like

how they've completely changed the artwork for the releases - they're as iconic as the music itself. But then I like the new Autobahn artwork because it reminds me of the infinite roadsigns we'd drive past on the way to go skiing in Austria.

On Spotify!

Never really given O.K. Cowboy a proper spin, but know La Rock 01. On the surface, Flashmob sounds a bit better than his debut! HUGE sound.

The answer is:

a) Kyuss.

I swear it was Kele Okereke

asking about a PiL reunion that made Lydon tell his cronies to beat him up, wasn't it?

More wood block!

siiiiiiiiiiiick

truly does sound like the Rite of Spring played on anything and everything, especially the ending.

Good read

makes me want to go even more.

ah yeh

my bad.

erm

'West Germany?' Is Germany not unified? If you're talking about its geographical location, it's in East Germany.

I saw them live at Lovebox

and they blew my mind. I bought their record called 'Fan' which is 34 mins of looped build-up. I tried to eat my dinner with it on but I could do nothing other than tap my foot and nod my head like a nodding dog. Amazing.

wow no way!

I always thought this band was KAZALS -- the awful, awful people at the end of Kitsuné 5. This is a welcome surprise. Last time I heard Rory was in Rat:att:agg or whatever it was called. Had no idea he had a new project.

I always enjoy these columns.

The single of the week always seems to be a choice cut. This week's reminds me, encouragingly, of DFA 1979. Also These New Puritans a little, especially the ending.

Malajube FTW!

Excellent band, excellent album.

Word.

Sept looking like a good month as Turzi's 2nd album is out then too.

Raaar, etc.

This is going to become a catchphrase - I can just see it. You've created a monster! (Raaar, etc.) .........god help me.

Ah! good news!

Been looking forward to this for a bit - didn't realise it was out so soon. Seems as if it might echo my mood then, as a recent jobless graduate....goodie.

Number 20

is a great picture!! The lights look like fire in a great contrast to the water.

Just having a quick listen

on Spotify - sounding good, particularly Blue Lips, but I can't help singing: Blue Lips, Dabudee Dabudai etc.

yessssssssssssss

they're playing Bestival. Score.

Thanks!

I'll have a mosey done to Rough Trade on the morrow then.

stores'

God that Stornoway single is awesome.

I want the 7" though. Any ideas where I can find it? It's not listed on the big London record stores mail order, and I can't seem to find the label - anyone in the know?

If jazz was an animal...

it would be a polar bear with a wig which comes close - if not identical - to Seb Rochford's hair. See what I did there?

"nee"

should be "nay." Unless you're Scottish :-)

Looking forward to this album. Madlib? Sweet.

Mos Def was also in 'Be Kind, Rewind' which is one of my favourite films ever. The only film I've gone to see at the cinema twice.

Right then now I am convinced.

Heard them do a session on 6music and they seemed nice and had great harmonies. Remember a song with a catchy synth/organ riff - guessing it's on the album.

The one thing that's putting me off buying it though is that the artwork reminds me of Ronson's album. (Awful I know, but everything counts...)

"Tommy Lee (Pamela Anderson)"

chuckle chuckle chuckle.

I spy a rogue apostrophe

on Kate Moross.

...

maybe it's just me then...

This is

one of my favourite releases of the year so far. Love it. Cannot understand the criticisms it's been getting in reviews; it's sooooooo much better than the first.

Their Scala gig was phenomenal as well, one of the best I've been to (apart from Bjork or course).

This.....THIS

is one of DiS's 'Greatest Hits'???????????

oh my god

fuck my dissertation. I'm on this.
