My maker isn't dead.
People look at me and think of another man. They wear me because of another man, but my maker isn't dead. You probably own me. You probably stopped wearing me last year when Urban Outfitters stopped selling me and started on the whole Where the Wild Things Are Thing just because Spike Jonze and Tony Soprano are doing it but maybe now that Top Shop are selling Where The Wild Things Are T's you're thinking about wearing me again. This makes me sad. As sad as my evolutionary stunned and hurt expression would suggest. Do I appear to have thick skin? Fickle, fickle, cruel cruel world.
PS. Please do not where me as part of a Halloween Kurt Cobain costume. My maker isn't dead and it makes me sad. If you see anyone doing this, poor beer on him/her. I like to be wet. Tell them that once you've done it. You might see me smile.
apparently
Murphy has come out today and said he has already written the new LCD album in his head and is set to record it when he next feels like it... which sort of flys in the face of this report.
this review is a piddle,
not because it reviews the album poorly, but because it is patronising to the point where the reviewer looks like a cunt (cun').
This lily allen thing is a joke too, allen is dub, ska, regga, pop. nash is more regina, keys, sounding. the are both from london. they are both young. but people dont compaire the holloways to klaxons...
Plus im from harrow and i know plently of people more cockney (fuck off, not all londoners are cockney - go shove your crown (crawn)in the bow bells).
Why must people nock londoners for sounding like londoners? I spent my youth trying not to sound like the americans in the bands i loved, am i know a london faker? hummm, maybe i should have plumped for a the BBC non-regional accent.
nah, he gets tarred
by association! plus on the whole the who's out put is wank and tantamount to sonic paedophilia.
or i could apoligise for my ignorance...
Roger Daltrey's
arse lickers are all 7 years old and live in his basement.
well,
not all people have been to scala or kings cross. i think it adds a bit of magic.
For fucks sake
forgive the girl for having an opinion, a lot of people on this board would say the same if someone quized them night and day on the state of british music.
lots of exciting bands, more shit bands that just copy the blue-print of a copycat. these are bands that are stale and pumping out tripe like s club and steps - its not ment to be that they literally play the same songs in the same style.
most people bitch about music that annoys them, comments above on allen prove this.
blame the people that print it, it really isnt contraversial at all
hmm,
the mars volta are the shape of punk to come.
My head aches
that page is more visually offensive than one of Nikki's rants. The music is painful, pls dont let this be all over TV/radio...
..
nah, your missing the point. tis what your meant to think. they do have clear structure if you fancy looking close enough. its not just chaos, there is method in the madness.
..
Omar has a sense of song structure that is other worldly, they are not 3minute pop songs they are epic constructs with rarely a sloppy moment.
we'll
just agree to disagree on the album then, i love it.
Cedrics voice is amazing- his pop vocal hooks hold things together as much as the drums do. omar is a brilliant guitarist even if some people he gets a bit too wanky at times, even for the stone cold cynics there are moments of genius.
I don't reckon I am
It's how its being spelt on their site. I might be wrong though, i suppose it's cedric who decides how its spelt not the guy who runs their myspace/website.
I just figured it makes sense as a combination of amputate and architecture in the Burroughs cut and splice way.
not to be a wanker, but...
It's spelt, Amputechture, fucking Cedric and his made up words!
I think
amputecture is an improvement, its less of the pomp and is more condenced. it would be hard for them to we write the blue print with every album.
I want Omar playing guitar on the next album though, no doubt about that.
The new guy is meant to be the guy drumming on Omars 'manual dexterity', he has huge boots to fill!
Will Linkin Park
ever do another ablum, have they been dropped, aint heard from them in a while. Im not sure what made me think of them right now though...
Saturday's
at the dome, the home of underage drinking. What a Dive. I think they own the first flight of stairs i drunkenly plummeted down.
Thanks..
I too shall be doing my best to crash their server.
..
does anybody know where the tickets are on sale from, they dont seem to be anywhere...
..
this is wicked news, fact!
..
i've killed a man for a less idiotic attack on an orange amp. why they fuck do that toneless bunch of spackies need the best amps ever? beats me.
..
please tell me that the playing order, 'soc if it is, my how idlewild have fallen.
thom yorkes
album is barely out no? i cant have been out for more than a week.
wicked
they played my uni last year, kent, and this cunt called arnon told them to halve the volume cos it was 'too loud and would disturb studying student'
fuck off, they were invent to make your ears bleed sweet honey.
..
the london dates surround my birthday, much as i love muse i dont want to be in wembley areana for my 22nd.
oh and they are
playing the dublin castle on the 1st of august according to their myspace.
Cedric raps once
and is fucking amazing, its not like he's gone 50 cent! and the volta have alwaysalways been ridiculous...ly good.
meccamputecture is one of the finest 3minute pop songs ever penned!
the automatic
can fuck right off; no its not a monster, its me with a 4ft sword coming to remove your larynxes! Die! (home boredom is killing me softly)
RIP
Syd, me and my mates will be singing wish you were here in your honor tonight. we would play shine one...but we cant.
To a visionary.
..
I want those tickets, and im a cheap bastard so i want to win 'em.
I hope
Ricky Wilson gets stuck up a chimney like the cheap sweep he is. Romantic? nah nah nah nah nah NO!
Lyrical vitriol
I can't wait for this, they said they wished they'd been able to adress the political situation in Crimes more, bush's re election. these titles look skathing.
just listened to em
they are ace, remind me of a certain Mcklusky.
*nugget
..
tune..
a wicked little nigget from Jamie, and nobodies mentioned the video yet either..
humm, tastey
i agree, its about time it got a UK release, they snuck it to the Americans a while ago...
Albums leaked!
yeh, i dunno where, but its out. this will piss omar off no end but im pleased as punch, they can have all my cash later, i want this now.
ah this is good news
I can't wait, and they'll be touring again, a double wammy of good news!
PS this aint cutting edge news so nobody needs kudos, its been all over NME.com for days.
and who cares about credit, news is news.
good good
the minute that the rolling stones release a 'political' album (neo-con) or whatever, you know its time to stop. Its cool to call bush a cunt, but they are cheap, worthless words now.
hummm, dunno mate
Punk has progressed to the point where someone with a geniun punk attitude will not place themselves into such constricting boxes as punk - the musical movement. If punks are ment to be rebellious, i'd argue that these boys (tmv) have far stronger 'punk' credentials than most. In essance, they don't give a fuck if you get it, but for those who do its a joy.
A different beast
Both bands are so different, ATDi where punk, out and out. In performance, and recorded they burst through the speakers with a vitriol which was only ever gonna see 'em break out of that box and onto newer, more expansive pastures.
RoC is one of my all time favourite records, but the Mars Volta are something else entirely. They are capable of achieving absolutely anything and this is what makes them such an exciting band. Seeing them live you may find yourself drowning in a mire of oddity, but fuck me when they pull you from it with an amazing riff/rhythm/melody nothing beats it. It is a moment for those in the room to share and it is then gone, like smoke disappearing in the air, beautiful for a moment and then gone forever. For me that’s what sets them apart.
I know whatever the album sounds like it'll be a wild adventure.
Rape of an institution
The magazine should be burned, I’m not usually a fascist, but there are exceptions and this is one. The only way to further soil the name of TOTP is to let it be a forum for ‘Canderel’ hacks!
Plus the beeb have robbed me of a childhood fantasy, so me and my mate Molotov are involved in board discussions to reach a resolution...
I like people and I like this
Nice work, although drinking on the job, tut tut tut, haha. I just saw the video to 'Sheila', its monkeylicious. Give that gibbon a hug!
