New Ideas
New Ideas just swung round on iTunes... not looking at what was playing, I assumed it was NeatPeople.
^^
I love this band.
Supporting Of Montreal too... I may explode in a giddy bunch of bubbling hormones at the gig.
.
But trust me on the sunscreen
Yay!
Looks like someone was paying attention ;)
.
Oh, no kneeling-before-a-queen jokes :(
...
And it's definitely not "download-only" either, there's a 7"
...
I wonder what an Easy All-Stars version of the album would be like...
HSCS
Good to see them back, they were so much fun the first time round. Harrassed Tom Denney in a club a couple of weeks ago and asked the inevitable questions... but I had no idea the new album was going to be as good as it is. Happydays.
Cargo
It'd be super lovely if you can get SDOLE to support!
-
Nottingham now on sale through Seetickets
Cargo
Cargo date has suddenly become "TBC" on the OM site/forum/et al. The mind boggles...
One more...
Oh, and Cargo through Cantaloupegroup.co.uk
Tickets
I've been digging around all day.
All I've found so far is TicketWeb for Scala, and WeGotTickets for Cambridge.
Manchester Roadhouse seem to use Ticketline.co.uk but not listed. Same goes for the others - not listed yet - Norwich (UEAticketbookings.co.uk), Nottingham (SeeTickets.com)
Physics makes us all it's bitches
Oh fucking hell, where did that Cargo show appear from? I spent the last 3 hours booking trains and hotels for the other dates.
I need my own Tour Manager.
Sorry, sorry, I mean... YAY ANOTHER DATE!
Happydays.
"May we never be stripped of anything we love"
Best band ever.
"immediacy"
What's "immediate" about buying the vinyl in HMV (or online and then waiting 3 days for it to arrive), travelling home, and then logging in to some website to enter a code?
I quite like the idea of vinyl + free download code, was exploring that avenue last summer with my wee indie label.
Still, doesn't sound as bollocks as the USB flash drive single idea... madness.
^
(unheard) *
Mmmmm
I crapping love this band!
Hoping for a new 9unheard) b-side though.
Anticipation...
Ooh, Saints v Sunderland or those Sheffield scamps? The choice is killing me.
Ryan Ross
I so would.
...
And with one sentence they invent musical cluedo.
What did Win Butler see?
Bristol
It's at the Horsefairs branch.
The Southampton Fopp is obviously the Marlands store, not East Street.
(No points for guessing where I work)
OM at Primavera
Where did I hear it?
They (well, Beeps) confirmed it on their forum. :)
Do something pleasant
Of Montreal are also playing :)
Whoops
To get in a dingy venue, that is.
I've no desire to paddle anywhere, though given the usual weather it may be an idea. I'll bring my speedos.
Camden Crawl
Corrrr, fuck me, there's too much goodness in that there list.
I can't wait to spend half my night(s) queueing in the rain to get in a dingy just to miss all the bnds I wanted to see. YAY!
I <3 Camden Crawl
^^
"Former coffin dodger"
Ha!
oops
"ever be exciting", rather.
Fopp
Surprise surprise another lack of in-store in Southampton. Will working at Fopp ever be excited?
Probably not.
Blut blut
Haha...
What?
Saints v. Derby
...Was quite fun, actually. Apart from the inability to score and the goal-kick that never was. Grumble. Grumble.
I think Mika's a shoe-in for #1, based entirely on the number of morons who asked for it at work today =[
Mullata Mullaca
...or whatever his band are/were called were pretty damn good in Winchester last week.
Nice bloke too.
Hissing Fauna...
Can only agree with the myriad of comments above. This is a sublime album, and I'll bet everything in my pockets that it's in end of year lists.
Good call with the Polyvinyl shop link too... make the most of the great exchange rate and buy buy buy!
Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? = Spellbinding.

Thou shalt wear sunscreen
"Commandments-based über-tune 'Thou Shalt Always Kill' is already single of the year and it's not even released yet."
So spoketh another DiSer, recently.
Can't stand it personally, but I do get the intro stuck in my head at times.
