the melodies throughout 'fleet foxes' are beautifully constructed, and deceptively simple. i am surprised that on dis of all places there is a mention of 'tunes' as some of the most popular releases on the site are mostly without..
..
i love this record..probably my favourite of the year so far.
..
thats a relatively tame touring schedule compare to many bands this summer. whatevez.
..
i can't stand this bands music. plus seeing them live is the most unenjoyable gig of my year so far. eugh.
..
i like the bit at the end of this song. when its just the piano and chris martin singing in that melancholy way that he does. and the bit at the beginning that sounds like brian eno, because it is i suspect. the rest, not keen. it is not all bad, and doesn't deserve a critical mauling because it is coldplay.
also, on a purely superficial level. guy berryman. my lord, he is a handsome man.
..
i would not want to hear her singing live. i am so fed up of reading about her too. she is a model. big fucking deal.
..
i love sam sparro. the lyrics are weak, but his voice is brilliant and he is a lovely man.
..
i hope to god that this is an attempt at humour. she sounds so insecure too. sad.
..
i'm not really sure what to make of this review.
suffice to say that i think that the nme review of the record was deeply unfair. i think its really depressing that certain publications or media entities/personalities seem to 'blackout' particular bands - guillemots must be the only mercury music prize band to not have played 'later -with jools holland' for example.
..
really nice feature gareth : )
..
to be fair i knew this an age ago..

ed o'brien gets more handsome as he gets older. swoon.
..
aren't all the nominations paid for?
..
this is my most favourite record in a LONG time. adore.
..
i love this.
..
zoo. quality publication.
little success - - - out come the baps.
fucking hell.
..
hmmm. to me it reads as a man dissatisfied with the dilution of a culture in general, rather than a racist. nme hyperbole cuntage.
..
conor mcnicholas is such a twat.
i may have to buy his trash rag just to read this spurious nonsense.
..
the agent provocateur story was made up. she isn't. thank god.
.
i think shes really naive, and actually feel sorry for her after reading this.
..
i think it sounds really interesting actually...how typical to be derogatory.
oh god
i wish she'd just fuck off.
..
brilliant!
nice work sean
: )
..
i think i would sob with joy if that happened. i love that record.
I LOVE COLIN MURRAY
he is wonderful.

he is just wonderful

watching
seb rochford drum is a sublime experience. he really is incredible.
as for the mercury result..quite ridiculous really..but thats to be expected when you have the likes of bash street kids mcnicholas on the judging panel. i listened to their album once all the way through (not to say i haven't heard songs numerous times) and couldn't ever again..i'm not interested in their live performance either. to me it seems contrived.
but..in the grand scheme of things what does it matter.
lovely review mike
'i have become, an aerial view of a coastal town, that you once knew' is a gorgeous lyric..a wonderful song, from a brilliantly self-produced album..a pity he was overlooked for the mercury.
..
i think the story is almost as vile as the headline..i don't think even heat magazine would run that.
trust me..
its not.
hes got a very generic look
its true.
..
..
ummm
this is ridiculous. any band that signs to a major has contractual obligations to tour and promote, otherwise they would not have the funds to make the record they wanted to, nor have all the equipment to tour. deriding a band for the sake of it is so tedious.
fionn reagan
melts my heart.
and has done for more than five years when i first saw him in belfast. i still have my hand-painted 'reservoir ep' from that evening and will always treasure seeing him live. he is wonderful.
might
be an idea to spell his name right, no? kieran, not keiren.
and my..such vitriol over nothing. radio 1 often stipulate a couple of songs they want a band to cover. if the view's favourite happened to be this one, then so what? i don't think such obscene comments 'stab them with his collection of hepatitis infected needles' is really necessary. you may loathe their music, image, whatever, but thats a ridiculous statement.
this is without a doubt
the worst mercury list ever.
it has made me cringe.
the only album i like on the list and who i think deserves it, is fionn regan..but it will probably be the sodding klaxons.
EUGH EUGH EUGH
jarvis cocker
is probably the most charming man in music. i love this man. and i love this song. his meltdown festival was incredible too..
dire
..
i love
'yes'. i heard it for the first time in an age a few weeks ago and it sounded wonderful in all its overblown glory.

um..
why no mention of guillemots here? or james dean bradfield? 'my only child' was the absolute highlight of the night, not just for me but for the audience as a whole, by far the most enthusiastic applause of a night, which was horribly static with poor song choices.
