overall
i like this list, nice balance of hoodoo from every which where, nothing really seems to be blatantly missing, apart from one thing which niggles my mind
New Moon by elliott smith has to be one the albums of the year, yet it isn't here, and he really should be, but he isn't.
i heard talk about clipse's album only being included in this list because it had a january uk release date. why isn't new moon included? is it because said album is a b-sides and rarities and demos compilation, and thus doesn't really qualify as an album? or is it because he's dead?
of course i respect that you lot must have had a difficult time narrowing down the list, but i do genuinely believe that Elliott Smith should be up there somewhere on that list. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Snoop Dogg
'legend, an absolute legend'
just do a myspace

barrowlands
woooooo-saaaaaaaaa
i thought
this album would be a big talking point..
blur were a good band
and remained that way till they split up, no matter now alienating some may have found "Think Tank"
it's not like the Who reforming, and bringing a lot of the ideas they had back in the 70's back to today. of course the Who still appeal to a great many people, and they didn't gain their 'legend' status by doing nothing, but Blur are a relevant band. their music is still relevant in today's society, and so it should be considering they were still about 5 or so years ago.
apart from Democrazy, their solo projects were all quite good too, but it's the band we're talking about here, a bunuch of people UNIFIED to make music. there's no point in talking about their solo projects as if thats somehow supposed to have an effect on their output as a band. (well it does a wee bit, but not too much)
so can we pleeeeeeeeeez stop the BLur bashing? :)
did Ian Brown
not get the NME "god like genius" (:S) award a while back as well?
Legend... Godlike genius?.... similarity?

they listed this review on metacritic as being written by delusions of adequacy
idiots
sort of like
Klaxons on happy pills.. and not taking themselves quite as seriously
you
shoudl review Linkin Park's latest album as well
I want to see it getting ripped :)
this is
the most critically divisive album i've seen all year
what do you mean by that?
unless you're meaning is that the average joe has a good ear for bad tunes rather than for good ones, in which case i sort-of agree with you
and sometimes when a band released the good material, some cash whores from a big-name big-budget label come along and sign said band for a fair sum. musical creativity and tunes decrease sharply after the signing in most cases, but publicity and advertising from the new label for 'average song' helps push the tune into the public realm, and fool people into thinking it's good, thus creating success
one of my many theories regarding the success of bad songs.. not heard this one yet though so for now it's all just conjecture
he could have just slagged off the tune as well
and still got berated for it.. and to be fair i can see why, all my friends is a very love/hate tune from the responses i've gotten from my friends, and the radio edit chops off much of the time the album version uses to gain momentum.
but the fact that he had the cheek to take a potshot at the album too is, well.. a bit out of order, really. especially when, all things considered, it's actually one of the strongest albums of the year.
hell, go onto metacritic and look it up, diver did it with his El-P interview. see all those glowing full marks reviews? sorry to rub it in, but you're mistaken
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timbaland
read the second paragraph where they compare him to Brian Eno
HA
energy, maybe
but tunes? no.
ouch
oh right
i actually meant bloc party.. slight slip of the tongue/mind there
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
well, havent decided about the song yet.. cheese-fest of a video though
ive still not heard 10000Hz
supposedly it's up his own arsehole.. but i like the artwork
with this review
diver is now returned to the status of 'absolute genius'(in my eyes anyway) .. after the klaxons 9 destroyed my opinion of him
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
DiS
REALLY don't like Bono, do they? haha
agreed
but even then, that line about ecstasy just seems like a frankly stupid thing to say.
i hope he isn't joining the bandwagon started recently by Lily Allen in thinking they can just slag pretty much everything they take an irking to.. and if he does fall into this bandwagon then can he please do it in an educated manner, and not just sound blunt and irritating like the gallaghers.
bono
is a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very funny man
yes!
you genius!
too bad it didn't though :(
cunts
all of you.
the album is bad, no discussion, or DiS-cussion or however you may want to put it.
