Think tank
thanks
The obvious one is Vampire Weekend
David Byrne's solo work. Maybe Diplo in terms of cross cultural pollination?
Yes
Isn't one of the attractions the lazer / light show?
Regular Fries' Regular Fries
Franz FerdiNandos?
These have been out since June I think
They're on the HMV website and I've seen em in shops
a) Super Furry Animals
In. Deed.
At the risk of sounding repetative

Esser
is mandatory
I enjoyed it without being blown away
Which was the same as my reaction to the first album. I think that the songs really come alive on stage rather than record - Brixton last year was amazing.
I agree - could go either way
It might be Crazy Horse versions of what ended up on Are You Passionate?
Grinderman!
I hope this means they'll play Bestival as well
If HMV follow suit this is a shame
they are generally the cheapest outlets for new release vinyl in central london. Is the picadilly circus one still Virgin rather than Zavvi? They still have styluses on their decks so you can listen to stuff.
He needs to work on that slogan
It's nowhere near as good as 'no Moet, no show-ey'
All the rumoured headliners
are a general step down from last year. Unless they go back to giving tickets away in the week leading up to it I'll not be going. Up yours O2!
I think it's not bad
Good in that they are 3 that have never done it before. Radiohead, Coldplay, REM, etc. all have so glad they've been ignored. Dissapointing that they haven't got a stone cold legend like The Boss, Neil Young, Led Zep, Stones, etc - they haven't had one of these for a while now. Can't help thinking that the Verve & Kings of Leon might do some other festivals as well which makes it feel a bit less special
If you look at their tour schedules
Radiohead and Kylie are very unlikely. They both only have the Saturday night free between other dates
The other gigs
have been a short acoustic set followed by the concert film. That's what is advertised here too:

Bollox
Same night as Sigur Ros at the NFT
Oh no
Not a new album as well
6 is far too high
You can listen to it on the NME website but you won't get that hour back. Absolute bobbins.
Indeed
*raises glass*
Snappers
The problem with the venue is all the photographers in front of the stage - all the first couple of rows can see is the back of their heads. Midlake were ace though
Really?
Hetfield comes accross as a right little emo wimp. 'I can only work for an hour a day'
In what way....
....does it serve as a taste of what the label has in store for the rest of 2007? The tracks are all really old. Oh, I see.
Strange, but...
...maybe they've seen the film of the naked hippy lady flicking the bean in a pile of rubbish by the bandstand that was doing the rounds 2 years ago. Enough to put anyone off their Thatchers
*thumbs aloft*
Anybody else going to this?

What's this guy going to do now?

Short songs
There are several songs that I only know because they are short and can fit at the end of side 1. I can recommend the Nirvana live album side 4 with all the in between song talkie bits separated out as great for this purpose too. There are also still several songs that I expect to finish in certain places when I had to turn the tape over (before the days of auto reverse). THEY'LL NEVER TAKE MY DENON 510!
On the RFH website
It says that they're sold out already
If youve bought the record
you should be allowed to download it for free in all instances. Could you be prosecuted for illegally downloading music that you already had on record?
At Bestival
I thought they were very good in the flesh
I'm not sure
Bestival are saying it's the only Beasties UK festival date this year
Fuck this lot
Sean Ryder's got a new set of teeth - Mondays in the area!
We've already got....
..JAMC, House of Love, Stooges, Spice Girls, Boyzone returning this year. I heard that the Dinosaur Jr tour has been pretty good and the new album sounds alright. Quite liked the New York Dolls album last year.
As albums become less of an earner and live shows / merchandise more so, they'll be more and more I reckon. The bloody James reunion tour has tickets going for loads on eBay. If you tolerate this, Shed Seven will be next.
Headline of the year
nice work Mr D
good stuff, but...
...I'd like to see Jason Pierce in the Le Tissier / Hoddle position. Prone to being muscled off the ball but posesses the touch of a midwife. And rarely leaves the centre circle.
It's gotta be.....
...Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell for me every time. Time to sob at the strings again.
