Cant say i agree. They where amazing in Glasgow. Jesu on the other hand where blodey terrible in Glasgow. Putting aside the fact they had a few technical difficulties they didnt really do much. Not impressed.

Drums and Guns by Low would have been nice to see. Once again they remain overlooked and underappreciated.

Im really not in favour of this review. I dont see why the comment about favouring movements over verse, chorus, verse etc can be featured in the same paragraphy as Panic at the Disco. Comparing any new band to an already existing band really restricts their future potential.

Colour of Fire kind of seams non existant when i listen to this. I suppose thats a good thing. They where no bad tho.

I dont think that will happen. If Blur or Albarn albums in the past show anything its that you cant really predict what it will sound like. Its not crazy experimental of their nuts like Radiohead unpredictable but its still always impressive

Dont agree with this article. Like a previous poster i was too young to go and see Sonic Youth during Daydream Nation and worried there was certain things of that album i would not get to experience. Perhaps as some people have suggested its not as good as the first time it was done but i dont think thats the case because i didnt know they played albums in their entirety back then. Have bands like Sonic Youth degressed since 1990? I dont think thats the case. I do not consider this to be reliving an "era" its more bringing classic albums up to par during their test of time. Altering the classics is cheating in my opinion. I would rather bands like Sonic Youth and Slint did play these albums in their original form in the live enviroment to leave the legacy and energy of these specific eras in music to inspire bands for another 10-15 years to come.

Its interesting according to alot of people the Twang where going to stand a test of time. 4 Months in and nobody can be arsed arguing that point anymore. Terrible band. I like Danny Dyer as an actor but id bitch slap him for contributing to this.

Id also like to add that just because a band isnt signed by a Scottish label doesnt mean they slipped through their fingers. What else is there in Scotland apart from Chemikal Underground? CU arent going to sign every potential decent Scottish band. Some of the best artists are Scottish though

Thats a great interview. Watched Yeah Yeah Yeahs on MTV2 live in New York tonight the performance is awesome. Good drummer but sometimes Brian Chase is a bit of a tit. His words where a bit over sentimental there.

I just really like how another Scottish band has come out to promote the scottish sound by taking in scottish artists as major influences. So much better for the scene in Glasgow that theres a great unity of bands playing really good music for each other. No american or british commercial interference just great music.

Actually Paul did play guitar in Franz in the early days and filled in on some extra guitar duties on their last tour to allow Alex to become a better frontman during festival season.

Your really exhausting your efforts here. If you look at the bands DIS is in favour of in the reviews section you wont find much appreciation for the Twang. If you have a bit of a guilty pleasure for the Twang try and restrain yourself from lashing out just because you enjoy a few of their songs and feel it as a personal insult on your music taste.

On the subject of the venue sizes its quite clear that yes your right this probably is a booking agent working on dates relevant to their sales. But the Twang wont be around to play at this level for much longer. This will be their peak. Its probably the last effort to draw a bit more money out of their target audience. They are not a band who will last forever.

I fail to see the relevance in pointing out chart posistions to prove how good a band supposedly are. A high slot in the charts is no reward to the fans its a reward to the band and the fans may only use it to counter the arguements that said band are shit. In this case the Twang. I couldnt care less if they got to number 3 in the charts you have a bunch of guys who take themselves too seriously. These bands do get to these posistions in the chart but a music lover who has been through the depths of genres will instantly identify that the Twang are blodey terrible.

Put it this way go to their gig and talk to members of the audience. Guarenteed the majority all left school at the age of 16. Its easy to sell out venues when you appeal to working class. So they can fuck off if they think this tour will add to their commercial merit to better massage their egos. Especially when they are probably robbing their working class fan base the price of an overpriced ticket.

I thought Up In Flames was better. But Melody Day sounds fantastic.

Its fair enough for some of you to say you dont like Bloc Party. No band is going to impress everyone. But your arguement is already lost. To say they are overrated and have it make a mark isnt going to wash over (not saying your opinion is wrong) The band have made their mark now its pointless debating whether or not they deserved it. Plus after this album there is probably going to be another one that will receive the same hype. Id save your breath now and just calm down over the issue. Maybe dedicate yourselves to something that you think deserves the recognition more. Then instead of thinking of a better band to replace the one your currently moaning about you can finally be happy with your own objective taste in music. Its a common thing to say but nobody is forcing you to listen to it. The review is an opinion not a statement.
