Y'all might want to check out Pinch's Underwater Dancehall too. The vocal mixes aren't great but the instrumentals really are.

Cyrus's album of a few months back, From the Shadows, is also worth a listen. Definitely more solidly-situated in the dubstep camp, but startlingly minimal and eerie. And the BASS is astounding.

Also, the 'jerky strums' don't limit reggae's vocabulary any more than a snare on 2 and 4 limits most rock music, or 4 bass drums per bar limits techno: it's an identifying characteristic of the music, but there's still room for limitless permutations
