i love this venue

mmm

I believe

that should be Apse not APTBS (a place to bury strangers?). I may be wrong though.

Sleep!

FOLLOW THE SMOKE TO THE RIFF-FILLED LAND!

Sweet-core...

SHELLAC

were phenomenal.

yes marnie stern

was my favourite album of the year.

and the racoo-oo-oon album should be there...

actually

no it's not.

that's

chris senn isn't it?

I think

any notion of ideological problems occurring with the "Don't Look Back" series are and can be completely quoshed by incredible shows that either enhance, tangent or otherwise "move" a person, as witnessed on Saturday night at the Roundhouse. Sonic Youth were incredible and with the danger of using a loaded term in this case, I felt a genuine nostalgia from the whole place, ie a child-like happiness. I didn't care that it was an album being performed, it was simply put, great. Ideological discrepancies (if there are any) don't occur when you've got a grin the size of a beachball on your face.

For the record, I hadn't heard Daydream Nation.

yeah

that is amazing...

is this the new

oasis vs blur?

this guy

continues to progress.

i thought

foals were going to work with Liar's producer?

oh yeah

there we are...

i thought

we were supposed to be playing this?

XTRMTR

was essential.

colleen

is my favourite electronica artist. she's the only person from that era of my musical taste that i still listen to on a fairly regular basis.

didn't realise

you are the reviewer. so reason 2 is just you.

the preaching

was excessive and naive. now this could have been because of 2 reasons.
1) because of misinformed social judgements
2) because as you and the reviewer suggest, a "play" (the pantomime reference) on his material that night and possibly his own status.

now my problem is with regards to these 2 reasons is:
1) oh dear
2) do i need to be a fan boy to have appreciated the night?

to be quite frank...

the tone of the whole night felt pantomime.

sorry..

that was a bit of a cheap shot.

what i'm saying is; as a casual observer, he appeared to be a naive-political preacher.

now i'm in the position of a casual observer who gets the impression one needed to be a fan boy on the night to appreciate the post-ironic sincerity and so feel a little bit alienated by the apparent elitism.

surely not?

i like..

the way you say "him and amy"

haha..

he said...

that when he goes on peace protests it's the police that cause the trouble, hence the lyric.

THEN... he wanted the audience to sing it and got slightly annoyed when his request wasn't greeted with great enthusiasm.

oh dear...

I thought...

the cringeiness of his pub politics preaching completely tainted the night and it's music. and the p.a. was far too small for that venue.

"THE POLICE WILL NOT BE EXCUSED, THE POLICE WILL NOT BEHAVE!"

oh dear...
