I guess that this result is another feather in NME's cap as they championed them more than any other nominee over the last year or so. It's a good job that their live show is not part of the criteria for this award as they are truly dire when transorted on to the stage. The Album is OK I would of voted for Amy Wine' as i think she has a truly great voice and her collection is less contrived and better produced.

from being a fan since their first LP I would and should be a little disappointed by this latest effort but i find that i'm enjoying it. Sometimes it does not feel like Biffy at all and this is why some might have a problem (even i might after i have lived with it for a while) but i think this record was designed for a wider audience and on that basis it is a triumph of sorts..

I have tuppence and i will throw that into this thread. I have always found the Manics very hit and miss. This LP is like the miss of the season a shot over the bar from six yards. An Embarrassingly poor LP with not 1 half decent song. I take no pleasure in saying that this effort could finish them off. 2 out 0f 10, 1 of which I give for the artwork.

but to describe them as boring is totaly wrong. This LP is quite lively and a million miles from the Libs sound. A brilliant album well thought out and executed. good review and I also give it 8/10.

for Ash. I agree it is a little safe but none the less a worthy release imo and on previous works their new album deserves investigation.

please can we lay off the pigeon- holeing. it does not do anyone any favours. The question should be do we feel a sence of enjoyment from listening to this record the answear for me anyway is a resounding yes!!. A confident 8/10.

Let me first say i quite like the persona that jamie t radiates. Really like "Calm down dearest" a lot one of my fav releases of this year so far. So you can imagine eagerness to listen to this LP. I have and to say I'm a little disappointed. Panic Prevention is negatively dreadfull and samey. An album is in no way justified here. Would have of being better off putting out an EP and worked his way to an album once he gathered more feathers to his talented bow i.e better songs with more hooks and maybe some collabs thus to give an album release the neccessary roundness and depth.

but then again i have had the fortune (or not! as the case is) to have had a sneaky of their proposed album and i can indeed confirm they are shite. The Major labels are falling over themselves to sign bands for a lot of money only for it to transpire that they are clearly not ready and or they are shite.

oh!! it's smells of shite, surprise surprise it is shite.. "It touches popular bases" that's for sure unfortunately too many in one track. what a mess, a bad idea and all concerned needs to sort thier lifes out....

Poor lily may also have a point. I think she was very unluky not to win Best Breakthrough but so could the majority of them especially the Kooks. but all the catagaries she was nominated for where tough. So there is no shame in not winning anything. Would like to see the Brits Academy re-address the International bias to include a couple more British only catagories.

thought it was a fair review. Whose original?? I think this single shows that this band have some promise. we need to try listen with an open mind and take each band on it's own merits.

Cool return which benifits from less kele and more "Party" even though this party sounds more like dinner party. would probably of gotten a 6 rating had the video not been filmed at one of my fav haunts with one of my best friend being in it.

Looking forward to recieving this Album. I hope it's good and goes on sell a lot of copies. It's all Art baaaaby!! and Art is good for us, innit....
