wtf
they're exhausted?
i can't think of a band who play any less exhausting music
ahahaha
SICK BURN :D
blondie - sunday girl
clearlake - sunday evening
nick drake - sunday
but for the most part they're changing the face of music in a SHIT way
(fennesz and twilight sad excluded)
the chameleons - thursday's child
oh and if friday i'm in love isn't on tomorrow's list i'm going to set fire to your armpit hair
one reckon i've heard, and i quite liked it
from the rest of the descriptions, can't say i half a crap about hearing any others
i relate to the mercury list more, fyi
you've still got it wrong: "Sea Sew". not "See Sew"
S - E - A
cheers
Lisa Hannigan - Sea Sew
is what it's called
i'm all for Uranus
this album is pretty damn good
and doesn't deserve to disappear under the radar
any institution which rates guided by voices any better than "what a load of fucking tripe"
are not worthy of my custom *sage nod*
i make it 6 for the Novel
Wolves was great and can't wait for MLN's newie
b) It’s Jo & Danny
also, can i just say that 6 Day Riot are one of the best things i've heard in aaaaaages. thanks.
wait,
what's Twitter?
YOUR DAD GIVES YOU SEX ADVICE?
i'm glad oceanrain's dad isn't my dad, whaa?
are they even women?
no, they're not. enough said.
wow, you're thick and inbred
so many people make naff-all money out of music and carry on doing it anyway, i guess because they like it. i presume if there's no change to their income, they're not going to stop on a whim. now go and get a job. or a lobotomy.
my solution would be
all music should be free. if you don't like the fact you're not going to make money from it, don't do it. Simple. As. That. if it means less music, then that's just tough shit
pfft, now i'm a cowboy is so clearly the best auteurs album
with after murder park in second
yeah but this list didn't have Elbow in, so is fairly irrelevant
by the way, i trust JohnM's actually representative DiSers album of the year poll, that he asks and calucates himself, will actually recieve a news story. i mean, if not, you may as well just not bother having users able to comment on news articles + reviews - it's an actual TRUE bit of user interaction, unlike this
no Paul Hawkins and thee Awkward Silences? SCANDAL
quite a few of my favourites on this list, and a whole heap more to check out. that's the point, isn't it? awesome
Act's?
if that's the right grammar then i wanna be wrong
nooooooo
this has got "just not the same" written all over it :/
ok
Elbow - Seldom Seen Kid
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
Frightened Rabbit - Midnight Organ Fight
The Acorn - Glory Hope Mountain
Beach House - Devotion
DeVotchKa - A Mad And Faithful Telling
Surrounded - The Nautilus Years
Why? - Alopecia
IN THAT ORDER
lol
paul wins this round, sorry mate
is that my hair in the top picture?
i hope it is
it was good
at one point he told this mancunian bloke to quit his job
wow, arrogance
always a good sign
i've heard a couple of tracks from this
and they make me really really REALLY want this album, like, a stupid amount. *salivate*
i was at yesterday's show and think you're silly
i don't think there was much clumsy instrumentation (maybe too much drum in skinny love), but most importantly i didn't want the album played verbatim. sure, stuff like re: stacks and flume is fantastic just as sparse as it was on the album, but beefing it up in places really worked, and getting the crowd to join is was just tapping into the euphoria and good feeling in the crowd, it was fantastically uplifting
i didn't pay £14 to hear the album played as was, that'd just be silly. what i got was the upsides of the album with unexpected surprises, i'm sorry you seemed to have a closed mind about the whole boiling
lol
Johnny Foreigner? *snigger*
huh,
did i miss the memo where reviews had to be controversial? i thought they were intended more of a guide to help people buy records. how old-fashioned of me
this is fairly awesome
i didn't really expect bombastically cheerful from TVOTR, but they do do it damn well
the quietus is bilge mate
except for the aidan moffat column - swells is a shadow of his former self, like bontcho guentchev turning out for hendon
Wild Beasts
were a bit disappointing for me. i dunno if it was the sound or them, but they just didn't really sparkle and didn't seem...motivated? is that the right word? shame really cause i saw them at a DiS gig a bit ago and they were mindblowing then
thank god for that
now we can just attack him for sicking stone roses' music on the world
i can't quite get over the irony of
being accused of wasting time for writing a review with 148 comments on it (so obviously a popular review), by someone who comes on to post a comment on said review 18 months later, that very few people will read. there's only one person here's wasted time love, yours might have been better spent taking a look at the demographic of the site and the pointlessness of your actions before posting
also, LOL
if their new record isn't "weird and fresh and radical"
are we allowed to beat them to a bloody pulp without any threat of resource from the law? just askin'
my definites
