because

they're pretty good?

Yep,

I think 7 is a fair mark too.

I find it difficult to concentrate

solely on the music because the festival was such a shambles.

However, I thought Electrelane were great and Late of the Pier sounded pretty good from where I was.

I don't disagree with you very often, Mike

but on this occasion, I disagree quite strongly. Everyone I know who was at this event (about 30 people), with the exception of just one, views it as a bit of a debacle. Maybe we're all miserable bastards but I actually felt a bit ripped off and this interview and your apparent suggestion that we're all over-reacting has, rightly or wrongly, made me more pissed off about the whole situation. The problems that the first ATP at Minehead experienced were minute compared to Field Day's as far as I can see.

This

leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

well, I don't eat meat

and the queue for the lock tavern bbq was pretty bad. The palm sized tray of noodles I had was £5 and ridiculously greasey. The cheese and tomato baguette I has was £4.50. Now, you can't tell me that's not over-priced. I understand it was the first time they've put it on but I think they failed pretty badly on some fundamental basics. The toilet situation (particularly for girls) was a joke and I think for a day long festival, that's pretty lame.

food options weren't good

and were horribly over-priced too.

They're playing

Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in November too!

I think I'd actually give this song a ten.

It's one of the most perfect pop songs I've heard. New Years is very good too.

yep

but what are the rules regarding that? Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan were eligible.

also

I'd deffo put Kode 9 and the Spaceape in there.

would

the Von Sudenfed album be eligible?

aha

good for her. Supposed to be nice there.

Isn't she

from the UK?

Timbaland is a great producer

and pop music will be worse off without him.

it's spelt

London.

yes,

yes you should. Or alternatively listen to the first track off the Everything Everything CD and get very excited.

Have you not seen

the Everything Everything DVD?

Amazing news.

I'm all over it.

yes

we get it, you think it sold out, ilm doesn't. Neither has provided proof of this, although ilm has instructed how to get proof it did sell out.

Can it end now? The comments under this news story are embarrassing enough as it is.

can you two conduct this via PM

and then come back with the results when you've finished?

I love prole.

that's all.

^basically this

just a more manly version of it. I was 15/16 when Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory came out and it was an exciting time. Despite the dirges they've come up with since, I still have time for the first two albums and the odd songs after those.

definitely

they were the best band I saw at the last ATP.

I'm hoping this means

they'll play a solo date around that time.

This is so so good.

They're so inventive and there are so many great moments. I can't think of a more enjoyable half hour of music released last year.

Great review.

They are, without doubt, one of the best live bands I've seen and on each of the four occasions I've seen them, they've been nothing short of sensational.

If you've only heard The Meadowlands, seeing them live is probably a bit of an eye-opener.

I'd quite like to hear

the Snow Patrol album.

yep,

the title fits the whole hyperbole and hype that NME generates. I rate some Primal Scream stuff and I think they have suffered due to some younger (and inferior) bands obviously being influenced by them.

I won't say anything about Ian Brown though because I love The Stone Roses debut album (probably) more than any other album in the world.

I don't think they can be called Godlike Genii

but I think Primal Scream have produced some great music.

Screamadelica, Vanishing Point and Xtrmntr have some fantastic music on. They've produced their fair share of shit too but they've got a decent back catalogue.

I might come too.

oops.

wrong band.

She's okay everyone.

I think this is my favourite song they've done

I can't stop singing it.

Penguins is lovely

and they have a few other songs that sounds as good.

I thought the London date

was at Dingwalls.

I really wanted to go to this

but I couldn't. Did anyone see Shady Bard?

Ah darn

I'll see what I can do.

Hello, what time will Guillemots be on?

I might not be able to get there until around 9.45.

I agree

Robbie is nowhere near as good as George Michael.

It's good to see The Doors are playing every day.

I thought they'd given up years ago.

This

has made my day.

nope

but you said you'd like to know if Vespertine was anybody's favourite album of the last six years. Yes, it is. It is also rated highly by a number of other DiS writers, hence why it got the number 1 spot.

Mike_Diver

has said on numerous occasions that Vespertine is one of, if not, his favourite album of this decade so far. See here: http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/475439

I like this list, it's passionate and unpredictable. I don't agree with much of it but then we're not all here to agree about music, are we?

Feels should be in the top 5.

Really it should.

what are you on about?

idiot.

These

lists are rubbish.

Bugger

I'm guessing it's now too late to enter this?

and it was £4 for a can of stella

it was ridiculous.
