i must say.....

after reading the late of the pier track by track, then this one, late of the pier seem like a far more interesting band, musically and personality wise. i've still only listened to a few tracks off each though.....

and as someone who HAS experienced the death of a lover, the explanation for that last track makes him come off as really really fake.

i liked mercury the first time i heard it

i think it's one of the best things they've ever done. and i was hugely dissapointed by a weekend in the city. but i have an ear for more experimental electronic sounds anyway, and less of an ear for guitar driven indie rock. to each his/her own. and 'flux' better than 'mercury'? no way.....

ok. i get it.

you're still giving exposure to bands that don't really need it. and no, fleet foxes are not absolutely brilliant. maybe 30-40 years ago they would be. i'll give you past lives and pleasureboaters though.....

and i'd like to know what you think of this.....

yeah, it's my band. we're not part of any scene. so sue me. tell me what blicky means to you. and i'll be grateful.

so i guess

if you weren't in the blood brothers or murder city devils or whatever popular band then you don't matter in the seattle music scene. how ridiculous this article is. sad but true. the scene in seattle is just like high school. if you're not part of the in- crowd then you don't exist. here's my list of the best seattle has to offer.....

i think this album is great

much better than i thought it would be. even if you're not a bauhaus fan, this is probably their most accessible album, just the right mix of glam, goth, dub, pop, and noise. if you think bela lugosi's dead is one of their best, you are insane or just haven't listened to anything else. bauhaus are better than any young new guitar band out there today, i'm surprised this is the first review i've seen of this album. it is being criminally overlooked. i mean, just listen to black stone heart (track 8). genius!

this is yuppie dance music

I just don't get it.

extremely boring, extremely derivative, not even as good as their first album.

the lyrics on this record are excruciatingly bad. cringe-inducing for sure. and the beats and grooves are flaccid.

most overrated album of all time?
everyone seems blinded by the hype....

how in the world is this shit better than klaxons?
everyone's blinded by the hype backlash on that one. at least they can write a fucking song without causing me to vomit.

LCD soundsystem

simultaneously sucks and blows

i just lost a little respect for this site

I can't believe so many people like the lcd soundsystem record so much. it is absolutely fucking horrible. and i love electronic/dance music.
i bought the record, listened to it a few times, and promptly sold it. one of the most bland and boring records in recent memory. i guess lots of people are getting paid to write about this one.....

and let the bile start spewing, i love klaxons!
i guess it's cause i'm american?
saw 'em live twice and they were TIGHT!
