Reviewer kind of echoes
what I thought when listening to it, albeit two or three times. I am planning to listen more, so haven't given up on it completely.
I've not heard much in the way of Pavement
Could anyone give pointers as to which modern bands sound like them?
Agreed
Progress Reform was awesome. Lessons... was just terrible, and what with the sound clipping and all made it basically un-listenable to me
DIS readers hate Muse
Nothing to see here - please move along
hmmm, lost post
Anyway.
I meant in terms of sales - it feels that Frames barely registered anywhere, certainly didn't get a review on Dis for example.
I'm an Oceansize fan and hopefully they'll turn up in Preston at some point. Frames, for me, was a missed opportunity with overlong and over intricate songs, and a bit of a step back IMO.
loved Cassedaga
and just caught the Monsters Of Folk single - very catchy
how does this
affect Oceansize, who, feel free to correct, are on a downward slide.
Didn't sense the hate
but a touch of disrespect, which me no like.
What with this and me not recognising *any* album reviews means is that DIS is becoming less relevant to me nowadays. Shame!
I seem to be having a crisis
with DIS at the moment. They seem to hate every new thing I've loved.
3?
Are you on crack?
I've loved
every Bluetones album. Very consistent band.
You really believe Cardinology
was RA&C best album? Really? Better than Cold Roses?
Wow.
what a shame
Cardinology was so poor. If I could just get an album half as good as Cold Roses I'd die a happy man.
my copy arrived today
Love the cover. Well worth a tenner.
argh
this isn't out for a month. Why tease me with this review? Why?
what a lovely song
M.Ward has always reminded me of a more restrained Bright Eyes - am I right? Must pick up some of his work...
great review
and the album is currently at £12.98 at sendit...
jesus
my two year old whines less than you.
Metallica happens to be popular. Get over it.
hang your head
in shame Metallica and Glasvegas
Foggyatlas has spoken
shame
they didn't put as much attention on the mixing of the album. The sound quality is awful - clipping abounds everywhere.
It sounds like
A White Stripes album with a different backing band. Damn shame - I loved the first album.
Why didn't the other members of the band lay down the justice stick on White when they were recording? Tsk.
yawn
please point out these bands half their age playing it better?
Get out
Lovely song that.
Pfff
Just to annoy you
It appears..
Woohoo
Ignore the first post - Elbow are ace.
Look forward to it.
ditto
Cassadaga is a great album.
Awesome
Thanks ;-)
I normally use livearchive.org but their site is as creaky as a very creaky thing.
Sounds great
Hopefully the gig will turn up at archive.org at some point.
/already has too many Ryan Adams live albums
Good review
And the production is sweet BUT they're lacking the tunes on this LP. I like it, don't get me wrong, but the songs blur and sound too similar to each other.
I also wish some of the heaviness of Efflorese and (parts of) Everyone Into Position remained - the whole album seems stuck in one gear.
(and I agree about them being underrated)
Still
Ryan Adams got a Merit Award.
Don't know whether that's a good thing or not...
Good review
it's amazing the juxtaposition in quality of reviews on DIS - take the review of the Foo Fighters for instance.
ffs
a review is a review, not a subjective rant.
Useless...
Come now...
get off the fence.
Artwork
prevents you buying an album?
nice one
belle and who?
Come now..
get off the fence.
Agreed
What an awful review.
I think...
Cunty Cunty Pissflaps is a great little phrase to utter during job interviews or when meeting/greeting Royalty/The polic.
Good...
...to see Chris Coleman has work after being sacked by Fulham..
+1 to Around The Sun
as a terrible album. Absolutely awful (although I admit Leaving New York is a fine song).
They'll never do another Automatic but I'm sure they have another New Adventures in Hi-fi in 'em.

It's up for a fiver on 7digital
by the way. Just picked it up and given it a blast. First song is quite a departure, and very good.
