Takk... is the first album that you've sung on in your native tongue - why choose this record to do such a thing?
I think we just wanted to... well, it was a challenge for us to write the lyrics, because words are so hard for us, while music is really easy and very natural. Words are so hard - they are so bare and naked.

but its not their first album sung in their native tongue. in fact, it was only () that was a random collection of sounds - both von and agaetis byrjun were sung in icelandic, were they not? even translatable...

yes. it is a progression from open heart zoo, no doubt about it. its fuller, more varied, and more intense. and using someone's music taste as ammunition to make a defense sucks a little.. you should respect people's opinions BECAUSE they have a different taste in music to you. music is subjective and does different things for different people.

as for the review, you do express things nicely and do have a flair for writing. it's just that, as everyone else seems to be saying, the score doesnt reflect either how good the album is or how positive your review actually is. sure, it might be a disappointment.. but it certainly isn't awful.. and considering how positive this site normally is.. i'd give it at least three and a half..

yes, or even more.. its not that its a bad album - in fact in parts its fantastic - i am chromosone is out of this world, and sun is beautiful, its just different, and perhaps not where i'd like to see martin go. but he had to change, imagine if he'dve come up with some mundane clone of open heart zoo.. he would've been destined for failure..

Yes!! i couldn't agree more. i absolutely loved open heart zoo and quite like this, but theres always been this 'thing' wrong with it... and that's it. he's not a goth. he's not angry. it comes across when he plays live in the way he laughs in between songs and and his friendly chats to the audience before and after his shows. and it comes across in unholy too.. it just lacks that little bit of edge..
