Being a George Formby completist and obsessive, I have bought their singles purely becasue of constant Formby comparisons in reviews. They have very little in common.

I think I'm the only person (apart from Darren himself) who thinks that his every release gets better and better. I find the early Hefner records unlistenable now, but these EPs are so subtle and understated - a real treasure.

One question - how come this is coming out on 'Belka' (a label i've not heard of) instead of the glorious Static Caravan who put out the actual EPs??

on the 'I'm Not Going To Teach...' flip caused horrible, horrible earthquakes inside my lobe-brain.

such a simple bluesy loop but I have no idea what the noise is. Kind of an intergalactic alien twisted harmonica.
