Exactly
This is like Mike Mogis recording Lightspeed Champion's album, I can't work out if that's amazing or shit.
Saw them last night at Brainwash
Really really impressed, definitely going to check them out again soon whilst I'm up here.
That is
a seriously rubbish song. It's just so plain and dull, it's like a bunch of 14 year old kids trying to start and indie band with absolutely no musical talent.
Because I've come up to York to Uni
with my mate Joe and he loves them and seeing as we didn't know anyone else, I said I'd go so he didn't go by himself. I didn't realise you had to be a die hard fan of a band to be admitted to their gigs these days?
Typically great production
by Matt Bayles there, but I think the vocals sound a bit too 'epic' and not really very much like ¡Forward, Russia! Plus I just don't really like the style of their new songs. I'm seeing them for about the billionth time at Fibbers and all I can say is I'm glad IWACS are supporting.
Catch For Us The Foxes
because it's not as heavy and shouty as A-B Life, but not as reserved as Brother, Sister. And it's easily a 10/10 album.
That is
seriously shit news.
Yeah, I forgot this was only just about to be 'released' here
I've had it for at least a year now I'm sure. I love the way the UK Bonus Tracks are just January 1979 and something else (as far as I remember). Absolutely fucking brilliant band though, despite my being in no way religious I still count them in my top 5.
There's something not quite anotomically right
about that picture of Sting...
It's going to be
AMAZING. Especially as I should have guestlist. Yay!
^ this
but probably for different reasons
LOL
Seriously though, this is actually the funniest news story in, oh, I dunno, at least the last few days.
Aaah
makes more sense.
^ exactly
Hammersmith Appollo? I've actually never even heard of them. Strange.
Actually
I listened to The Burial Plot Bidding War the other day and it is SO good (never saw it live though, I'll admit that now). But I love this album, greatly improves on what they started on Gutter Phenomenon. Nothing will ever beat Hot Damn! though I'm afraid.
I'm going to both those tours
Should be awesome. Also, Youthmovies, IWACS and mewithoutYou all on one CD is honest to god the best thing I have ever ever heard in my life. I actually cannot wait.
N Dubz
Funniest thing I have ever heard. Especially as that idiot in the hat said 'na-na-nah' whilst being interviewed by ITV. Oh, the joys of having a brother who watches Channel U.
Is he meant to support LA Galaxy
just because they have a fellow englishman in the team? This isn't a story.
Can DiS
set up a counter-campaign to get whichever Rod Stewart song it was back to number one instead?
Of Scramblers
is wicked. Then again I love anything involving Youthmovies really.
Yes, it's definitely worth getting
if only for the first two tracks alone! But the rest is great too.
Yes @ York Fibbers!
This will be my first gig at Uni, and what a gig!
This has confused me
I also bought it in HMV last week.
Band of the weekend: Youthmovies
Runners up: Brand New & I Was A Cub Scout.
Poor review
I think people are putting this band down purely because of the amount of press they're receiving. I think for a teenage two-piece the songs they produce are brilliant.
I think
the single reviews have been unnecessarily harsh, especially on here. 5 for '...Nightclubs', which I think is their strongest single to date, and only 6 for '...Adventures' by a 'contributer' with only 139 posts to date. Both of these songs didn't really hit me on first listen but if they're actually given a chance and especially after witnessing them live you can really appreciate how good these guys are for an 18/19 year old duo, and I think they deserve a hell of a lot more respect and praise for what they're currently creating. I personally love them and cannot wait for the album.
Madonna
pretty disturbing?
I have Kevin and AJ's signatures
When my parents came back from Rome and told me they were staying in the same hotel as them and my mum had actually MET them my then 9 year old self nearly exploded. Those were the days.
mewithoutYou
have always run their tour van on used vegetable oil that they buy from restaurants. And they're actually a quality band. What I'm trying to say is, "Fuck off, Korn, you shitty publicity whores."
65dos supporting Fear Before!
I didn't even know that was happening! That would've been amazing.
Translate
is the best song on the album, IMO. Ignoto was much much better though.
Bit of a
letdown.
If there were to somehow be some mysterious fire
at Hammersmith Apollo on that day...
That's why
the solo on 'Take Control' on Maladroit is my favourite guitar solo EVER.
I really can't understand why everyone hates Maladroit either, I think it's a great record.
Yeah, I found that too
I've seen them twice before, but this is before I go to Uni, so I might as well get a ticket as it'll probably be my last ever London gig.
Bo
ring.
What an
absolute cunt.
And also, in regard to the crowd, what an absolute bunch of cunts.
Except for the poor pretzel throwing bloke of course.
Backline?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
"Graham Coxon was reportedly not keen on the reunion"
But then he realised his solo career was shite.
Aww
I really do love her. Come and live with me Lily, I'll look after you!
I'll be at the Barfly show
without a shadow of a doubt.
Same week as Converge as well, couldn't get much better!
'art-break Hotel
Favourite DiS headline ever.
Alk3
definitely still shit all over Green Day, even if Crimson was pretty average. And this is coming from someone who owns every single Green Day album.
