Bullshit
The sound for Taking Back Sunday was the worst I've ever heard, the beginning of BMTH was literally just drums and vocals, and for Fucked Up! the soundman was clearly deaf, first of all the drums cut out, then the vocals, then the drums and the bass, then it was great for about 3 minutes and then the vocals cut out again. It was a complete joke.
That's just a rip off
of a New Found Glory album cover. That is all.
These guys are beyond amazing live
I am definitely going to be investing in this album, glad it's got a good review.
This is going to sound fucking terrible
Jack White is probably the last person I'd chose for a Bond theme, it should clearly been Winehouse. Even Chris Cornell again would've been a better choice.
Skeletons, as in thisGIRL, right?
Well up for that.
I might make the effort to see them live
I really liked the first album, and definitely remember enjoying at the least the singles from the second one. Good stuff.
^ I have it
XD
^ same
I loved these guys, but I kinda saw this coming, what with all the blogs about wanting to expand the band and William starting another band and things. I really hope they carry on in some other form cos for two guys that are so young they've got a hell of a lot of potential.
Thank god for Dour Festival
I was seeing them on Thursday in Leeds and turning 19 at midnight, it was going to be the best birthday eve ever!
See, this is the thing I love about Morrissey
That song is pretty much directionless, I wouldn't find myself remembering it after one listen or humming it all day, and yet I just feel completely comfortable and happy listening to it, and I still think it's a thousand times better than the hook-driven indie-pop shit floating around at the moment. He's just class.
Yeah I've got the Head Wound City CD
It's ace.
Has anyone got
that link to the bootlegs of his solo stuff? Someone posted it ages ago but I lost it! I'm really excited about this album, can't wait to see him live again as well.
From what's on their Myspace
they sound awesome. I've got the Neon Blonde stuff, I'm not as sure about it. I need to check out Past Lives as well, I think I kinda always preferred Jordan's voice anyway.
^ exactly this
I'm fed up of all these new twee poppy indie bands with a male vocalist and some annoying girl yelping in the background - these guys, Los Camp, Black Kids, even Alphabeat - it's all shit. I hate the way that these guys get credit for mentioning things like LiveJournal as well - wow, topical. It's just annoying.
I literally just finished watching Eastern Promises
and this is the first thing I see. Weird. Doubt they're as good as that film though.
Shit!
I really wanted to see them live as well, this is fully lame news.
Shit
I'm still in Europe then. Thank god I'm seeing them at Dour.
The Hunter's Daughter
is SUCH a tune. I'd sort of forgotten this album but it's definitely a great summer one.
Apple and Moses
Honestly, without that I would just be indiferent to him, but those names will always remind me what a terrible cunt he is.
'pleasure'?
Are you sure?
I remember reading a great article in Alternative Press
about the top five bands that brought breakdowns into the mainstream, and number one was New Found Glory, mainly because of the Shai Hulud connection.
"Am I Bovvered Though?"
Hang on...
The only Saves The Day I listen to
is Sound The Alarm really, that's a top album and a bit less, well, pathetic sounding.
The first NFG album is brilliant
I definitely think it's got a lot more substance than a band like The Starting Line. The Movielife were great as well, I definitely think they're worth mentioning as they've got that sort of hardcore edge. But yeah, if you really think NFG are weak pop punk try listening to Nothing Gold Can Stay, that is if you haven't already I guess, in which case fair play haha.
^ Desa, good shout
Although his lyrics in Bright Eyes are definitely more 'emo' than the Desa lyrics.
The new Panic album?
The Audition?
You've got to be kidding!
So up for this
Definitely going to the Leeds date, might even go to London or Portsmouth as well.
Best 'genre' of music ever
Although Clarity is definitely a glaring omission. Add that and The Movielife's Forty Hour Train Back To Penn and I'd probably be happy to only listen to albums in this article and nothing else for ever.
You also get this free if you buy any other release
Which is ace, as I've only just got round to buying the TTNG/Catsx3 Split!
Score was obvious
But the review was actually very well justified and entertaining, thoroughly enjoyed that review Kev. Don't really think it's necessary for anyone to call you a 'cunt' because of it to be honest.
No
Because he can't. See also: their acoustic set that someone posted here not so long ago...
I bet it's
fucking rubbish.
P!ATD + The Beatles =
AARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!11!
"I hate archers, The Archers, and Jeffrey Archer
You're all deceitful cowards.
I've just realised this only applies to archers and Jeffrey Archer, and not The Archers, who are, to be fair, a mixed bag."
He's always had confidence issues hasn't he?
I vividly remember reading an article in the NME around the time of 'Welcome To The North' about how they had to quit their US tour or something cos they couldn't hack it, and he started crying in the interview. Weird, and it's a shame cos I quite liked them at the tim.
They're playing a free acoustic set at my Uni
on Friday. I guarantee it'll be shit.
Yndi Halda
are currently by far my favourite 'post-rock' band. If anyone hasn't heard them they're well worth checking out.
Jim loves them
References 'Half Right' on Futures ("like my favourite Heatmiser song goes, it's just being alone"), and then covered the song for the Stay On My Side Tonight EP. I probably would've asked a question about Heatmiser as well, nice one.
They played 'Downpour' in Stoke
last year, I am reliably informed. Which made me very jealous.
Can't decide which London date to go to
Might go to Southampton instead, what's The Brook like?
Clearly the best song on the album
And I quite like the video, especially when they're all standing together singing along, but Yannis's attempts at 'quirky' dancing are frankly embarrassing, made it quite uncomfortable viewing.
See, I quite like this album
But I really really wish that the vocals were better, because they stop me from *loving* it. Which is a shame really. But it'll probably be big, and I guess they deserve that.
Easily 8/10 for me
if not 9. It's brilliant, has a lot of depth. The comments about 'an impending sex crime' are just fucking ridiculous, pretty bad journalism to be honest.
I felt a bit harsh
admitting that I've already heard the album when they asked in York last night, but it truly is a great album, I haven't stopped listening to it, and I always intended to buy it anyway. I think the lyrics are simple in a really good way, they're not trying to be pretentious at all and I really see what William says about connecting with it. Such a great band, nice interview.

Despite being a shit band
Their performance was one of the best of the weekend I reckon. Plus some of their new stuff has some real 'potential' as they say. Worth watching anyway.
