ah gosh darn!

Idlewild, Mystery Jets, Dananananaykroyd & Mum.

bummed out to not be able to go to the Friday this time, been four years in a row - can only do sat & sun this weekend.

i was there

it was definitely a great threesome to be at the social, shame loads of people did leave after airborne - but probably expected. PABH were great though, and i love everything larkin - i can't stop listening to their record.

all in all, i concur - i go to many less now, but will be one of the best of 2009 for me i think.

it's a

"good" record, 7 is about right. there is a bit of chaff in there. but some really catchy music etc.

sometime around midnight & wishing well stand out for.

i saw them in nottingham last week and they were good, but again equally 7/10 standard. was a real shame they packed out the venue being opening act and a third left, suckers missing sky larkin!

ace!

i missed the last leicester show, but caught summer sundae & death cab.

can't wait to see them again...

i'm contemplating

coming up 'all the way' from leicester for this;

very much worth the buck with dana, grammatics, tubelord, secondsmile, blakfish (and more)

ponders......

i thought

frightened rabbit were good, very good they impress me very much every time i get to see them.

i believe death cab were good, it was a good show. but you are wholly right on the slow start. they definitely didn't command the evening. and to me, they played way too many songs from plans whereas the photo album was lacking a pluck...

i always love transatlanticism finish though.

prices...

would've cost me £28.30 for a ticket, i love bloc party....

but for a show at the civic that kind of costs?

it's just not worth it, i've seen them enough times already. i might pay that cost for a bigger band, but i don't think they're worthy enough of nearly 30 quid.

big shame...

summer sundae

i have been going for years; and i will go for many more to come...

was glad to see a dis stage, and enough dis friendly bands for it just to be awesome.

sumo?

born ruffians...

i want proof!

and i most definately want to go!

c) the verve

that looks like a good five bands for the drowned in sound stage, very good mix!

my first year at benni

i absolutely loved this....

i'm pink as hell - but it was a brilliant festival to go to, so good!

i decided

not to go and see them the day before in leicester to watch sweden vs greece in the football...

ACK!

i feel like a plum idiot in hindsight now, very much wish i had gone.

i fucking love

every addition they keep getting, when were cold war kids added?

but they keep adding bands playing leicester! i couldn't be bothered with lightspeed champion last night as i know he's there; now mystery jets... i love their album but am so thinking why bother, they're at SSW.

i liike this record.

i like headlights very much; but i was a little disappointed in that i think their first record is better than this though...

nice record though all in all, just gets a 7 from me too.

i was at this...

wondered whether a man called dom gourlay would be there; and if an eventual review would turn up.

dragonflies draw flames actually really impressed me myself, i'd never heard of them, but very biffy clyro in my opinion. only to be disappointed a couple of days later while investigating them to find out that was their last ever show....

and well the twilight sad, they were just brilliant! they are brilliant the grandiose noise and ethereal tones of their music... i love it. well worth the forcing my mate to drive us over for leicester and pay for him too!

there may be repetition;

but so what? i don't think you see people complaining about it with ATP.

and well to be honest. camera obscura, jose gonzalez, howling bells..... they were all great bands and well worth coming back.

definately a grower

i pretty much did not like this record when i first listened to it? but you know what. i am a fan, so i gave it a few more tries and it is really a very competent album. and i don't mean that to sound bland, i enjoy very much a listen to this...

on first listen to the album

i was all "mehhhh, i remember them being alot better"

....by about the 3rd or 4th you will love it, i think it is a great record! you just have to appreciate it's different; and then learn to love it and play to death like i've been doing...

i'm so glad to be going to bennicassim

but i'm SO GUTTED to be not going to this as well, missing sigur ros, death cab, interpol.... a franz set.

it's swings and roundabouts....

but whoever goes this is GOOD!

i'm so gutted by this

i never even got to see them live, and it burns so much!

every time they were set to play leicester [and i could make it] the show ended up cancelled, every show i couldn't make it too ended up happening.......

so saddening. they were great with toby, i would've loved even instrumental.

all the best to the MMISL contingent.

is it really bad

that lostprophets are well and truly my guilty pleasure, it's appalling but i do quite like them.

i am

exponentially gutted i've never been able to see MMISL with toby. the two shows in leicester that i could make it too were cancelled, and the ones they played i couldn't make.

such a shame... i love variations on swing.

onwards and upwards but i would have loved to have seen them before now.

i really want

to go to this one, you've nabbed me right there by saying broken social scene are playing! and ...trail of dead!

now to convince my sucker friends to like better music and get us some berth and have a hella fun weekend.

it is splendid

and grows on you infinitely.
i adore this record so much.

and having had seen them just on monday i appreciate it even more because of the takes and turns on the record so willfully played live as well.

take me to the riot is so much the highlight, along with life: 2.

already wanting to see them again and get a new lp.

I

must say i friggin love this record. the times changes are what makes it brilliant. there are 5 songs in each song, each wonderfully layered.

i can't stop playing this and can't wait for the actual release so i can buy it and not feel guilty.

...and finally see them? maybe when they play leicester they won't cancel or i won't be busy. as per the last 5 gigs. ACK!

is this...

...not released yet!!?
i bought a copy at my local record store last tuesday.

thats good. they must put their stock out as soon as it's been delivered.

still: odd.

i actually adore

this record. entirely so, it's pushed them from in my mind from good to great. i now go back and listen to the older stuff and it's better.

i feel so lucky to see them at the summer sundae festival, worth the price alone.

i would

so love to have been able to make it to one of those shows.

okkervil river are so so good.

i really

want to find a way to travel to brum or notts.

i do indeed have a soft spot for voxtrot, they make me swoon inside.

i saw these at easter

quite good, think i'll have to give them a concerted try at the charlotte with iLiKETRAiNS to edge my eyes over them...

there is no doubt

that arctic monkeys are up there amongst best live shows around, it's so simply done but just an incredible time.

i think this review hits the nail on the head.

they are crap

they supported muse at wembley and god was it a dire experience. i would've rather seen george michael at wembley than them!

i'm a bit surprised

gosh i love the super pop of the maccabee's. but i get the feeling someone has made a naive decision.

on the last tour they played smaller venues [see nottingham, oxford] and had to be downgraded further before the night. how will they ever sell rock city? birmingham academy? i imagine lots of people in london maybe.

perhaps they have high hopes on the next single, latchmere is it then maybe?

last time i saw arcade fire

was in sheffield, leadmill - what - 700 people??
i knew arcade fire were big but arena big, i missed a few shades somewhere!

though i feel i must see them on neon bible so i shall be coersing the kind folk of this world we must visit nottingham.

fuzztival!

i'm so going to venture up to sheffield for that lark!
not only will it be fuzztivities - but add los campesinos! to the mix of whatever other bands play and you have the makings of a great day!

cannae wait!

well

that twang review in the nme was done by a certain mr james jam - the one nme staffee that i would listen to and trust his taste in music.

he has an absolute grasp on what music should be and how he ever got a job with the nme when i regard him so resputably i'll never know.

but if you ever read anything by him - trust it. he doesn't just follow the the folly of what nme say is 'cool' - he just has taste, writes well and... yeah.

boy does that sound > fanboy! ack no, good writer though.

i like heartyeah.

i [heart] the theme from the raccoons was ace of base.

but this stuff is moving on (a bit) and chris huelsbeck is tops.

oooooh

nottingham in july i may have to trek up from leicester for that jolly fellow.

and i may even indulge in a trip to sheffield too....

oooh i'm all tingly.

i've slowly

and eagerly anticipated finally seeing MMISL. and not only is it with rolo tomassi, but lovvers and public relations exercise. now that is a strong line up that cannot be missed. roll on the firebug...

i really

really really really really like this record. i think it's vicious and angry and overall - entertaining. two thumbs up from me!

i'm quite amazed

by the size of the venues to be honest, not to bemoan an obviously talented hawley.

all that mercury talk i'm sure helped him, my mum'll be pleased and go along i'm sure.

i very much like this

but i did tire of it slightly after many listens. not to disparage a great record.

but now it's finally released and i bought my copy to play in the office and share with my colleagues, to get hounded... accused of 'atlas' being "whats this pinky and perky shit" some people just don't get music.

i'm very little

aware of grizzly bear's music, but i have a copy of knife. i like it.

and i'm so internally ecstatic that they are playing leicester tomorrow you wouldn't imagine. about 4 uk dates and leicester is one, it's great!

i got

trompe l'oeil on monday after hearing a couple of songs and boy i adore this band, i can't wait till i get to see them. the reviews right, bar not understanding the words... it's irrelevant. it's BRILLIANT music.

i well and truly

adore this record, i think it is just a wonderful listen and a brilliant member of my cd collection.

you know what?

i'm really looking forward to this. the little ones are just lovely great. blood red shoes are immense. and rumble strips/pull tiger tail are incredibly fun as well.... will be a good jaunt.

diver

came all the way up to the not so lovely leicester. and i FORGOT. about this gig, i'm so ashamed. my own town.

MMISL coming back pronto though with rolo tomassi for one so all good!.

and herra hidro impressed me exponentially when i first saw them, incredible.

don't be rude

dartz! are bloody mental and even though amazingly (and brilliantly) they return to leicester again (for much glee of me) IWACS are bloody good too. some crackers they've got up their sleeves.

i was there...

and i thought !!! stole the show, they were really something to behold. but blood red shoes were brilliant, the sound of them in the astoria blew me away!

HCDp were also good....

and maximo were okay, okay they were.
