the album is whack, and whats more we all knew it would be.

Blue and Pinkerton are both good, but they both came out years ago.

their relevence to modern weezer who essentially are a spent force is pretty obscure in my opinion, its like they could be two different bands.

i'd say the £15 entry fee had alot to do with that. They see to be bigger in London than ever, even people who i work with who know nothing about music like them now.

Plus its early days for the record as well, they will do well on the festival curcuit.

if they album had just been BAD than that might have earned a better review. I think Kev's point is just that the album is 'meh'...and therefore deserves the minumum score.

that the record has been successful on a number of different levels, and it is certainly not a 'dark time' for the long blondes or whatever is alluded to in the review.

that said, the kooks are FUCKING SHIT.

the vast majority of reviews for the record have been very positive, even this website gave the record 8/10. Its done quite well sales wise too. crawdaddy? gigwise? I'm sure the blondes won't be losing sleep over that one.

and their album got amazing reveiws, 4 out of 5 stars in most places. The only place is saw a 'lukewarm' review was in NME.

that the whole thing seemed to be about the show and now the show is over the label don't care about the band anymore.

That is sad really. I think the best thing they could do for their credibility now is slam the label and the show like they are doing.

i met an A&R rep for universal about 2 years ago and she hadn't heard of any of the trendy bands of the time and said she only liked the killers and the feeling. weird.

is a lovely lyric. who gives a shit about what 'class' she comes from. I can't think of one vocalist who sings in their 'natural' accent, its all varying degrees of putting a different voice on.
