Haunted House feat. The Twang
*crosses fingers*
Ugenia Lavender
sounds like a urinal cake...
Gang Members have a Glock shaped
birthmark on their right thigh.
Isn't he always talking some shit?
After DBTT, weren't they twatting on about the seventeen albums-worth of stuff leftover that was gonna be released?
That was scaled down to a new single that didn't happen. Not that I'm complaining. Hopefully just talking about music is enough for him now.
Last I heard
the label were not seeing much point putting out a DVD of a little-known, deceased band.
Bad label.
Wooo!
Was gutted when I missed him in Manchester last. The end of the video (with the pictures) is funny.
Still think Fathers Day or Ldies of London Town would make better singles. Having said that, the whole album's pretty strong.
I like Willy Mason but agree
this rating is over the top.
Never ever understood
how people rate their lyrics at all.
I think this is a fine song. Good intro, rest is bland. 6-7 at most. For 10 I expect a classic. DIS rating's are out of whack.
Love it loads
About Leaving would sound great on any dance floor!
Spider-Man 2
is a perfect comic book film with so much love gone into it. I hope 3's the same!
This clearly isn't true!
With regards to releasing themselves, I'm sure Yorke's said they'll probs sign back with a major for a one album deal thing instead.
A band their size couldn't possibly go with an indie or set up their own label overnight could they? I don't know these things.
Love this single
It's "nice" for a rock song too.
And the album's great; veers from lovely to weird to aggressive. Just what I was after.
WHY DON'T YOU JUST...
HAH...
I JUST REALISED...
YOU JUST DID.
Ride yrself, dick drinker.
Is their encore still
Brandon Boyd taking his top off?
Offensively bad.
Much better
than the last single. Keep it up boys and girl.
I was told I had insufficient funds
which is wrong.
And only got the mail today. I'd ordered another one through NME.com which worked though, still, pretty shit.
I'm all for them 'loving music'
But as a mark of respect, maybe under a different name?
Keep the members, play the songs, but don't pretend to be at all the same band. Seriously.
I'd respect them if they'd split
after the Holy Bible. Really, a member missing/presumed dead and an untoppable album.
No-one can argue that they continued for anything but money. Fair enough, but let's not give um anymore credit than they deserve, eh?
I saw a youtube vid
where someone getting mocked by him said something well "at least I'm not f*cking Hear'Say" (or one of the ones Cowell did, I dunno) and anyway, he got well upset and pissy
"you've...no...I don't want to talk about it, you've crossed a line"
Grow up, twunt.
doubtful Doubtful
Everything that's bad about music rolled into one man. Power ballads, white rap, rap rock, faux metal and now country I think.
Kid Rock
...I loved him when I was young.
I'm so embarassed.
I don't believe in them
They do not exist.
Hah
been listening to JPL all day!
I've literally been getting into this
as of this week.
It's amazing. amazing. amazing.
Caroline Says pt. 2
The Kids
The Bed
Sad Song
Grimmest last four tracks on any album. But still beautiful.
London though, grrrrr.
I'm a Biffy Fan
But this is a review of ONE song people. Frankly, a dull song at that.
The folks above taking it personally need to step back and calm down.
5/10 is more than fair, especially when the reviewer's not a fan. I'd give it the same and I love the band.
THE ADVERT IS FUCKING ANNOYING
I'm getting round to downloading Firefox because of Idlewild. That's all they've accomplished. Song's a stinker.
Cock Ice?
agreed. Actually "Getaway Car" and the other odd track at the end of the self-titled had moments.
Hmm I read an interview
saying it wasn't gonna be that heavy?
Hours was dire. Not one song as good as anything from 'Casually Dressed'...which I used to love!
Sadly
y'can see from a mile away that this is designed to garner sympathy sex.
Which it, inevitably, will.
If y'go on their site
there's a little video diary of the Kerrang! tour they've done to fill the time.
Anyway, you see a glimpse of the singers feet, and they are fucking cut and brusied to shreds...that man loves his job.
Show Stealing
every time I see them. He is an absoloute force of nature.
DIS please climb out of the Kaiser Chiefs
just because you met/signed them once.
They've moved on.
We've moved on.
It's "alright" to hate them again.
NEW KAIZA'Z ALBUM; 10 OUT OF 0
bf = breast fuck, foo'
I don't know why...it's 'crazee' and 'well random'
Bronx are such lovely chaps
every time I've met them they've been really nice; up for a chat and a piccie!
Agree the new stuff sounds best live.
DIS
Give a 9 to absoloutley anything.
Seriously believe that it's 9/10th's perfect, Colin?
fuck this.
Spun this a few times now
REALLY REALLY good album. It took a few listens to accept the new versions as 'definitive' as I'd had a lot of demo's before.
Don't think there's a weak track; 'Ladies of London Town' is one of the best pop songs I've heard in a while. I really am impressed with his abillity to be diverse as well as write facking brilliant songs.
Deserves a long and distinguished career!
godawful
that single "I thought you loved me" or whatever is my pick for the worst of 06.
It's at the bottom of a bad shit tip.
no, you can't
Well done.
Top bloke
Really like the songs and the live show, hope that having a backing band doesn't detract from the intimacy of his last few tours.
Really the time-span in which he's got two solo releases out since MD's split is impressive. Particularly with the amount of shows he's done/doing.
can't wait to get this!
Completely disagree
I've cited my view before that the "Burn Piano Island"-ists are, for the most part, merely emotionally attached to it as it's their first BB discovery.
Lyrically (which is an artform by itself, and something allisfulloflove has completely ignored in his 'review') 'Crimes' is 'jawdropping'-ly better than 'Burn'. Fact.
'Young Machetes' builds on this, encorporating complex and, at times, even romantic themes into the mix. Musically, the album is catchy, complex but not elitist. Its' diversity is portrayed in the likes of 'Spit Shine Your Black Clouds', '1,2,3,4 Guitars' and 'Giant Swan'.
Ye, ya iz probly rite vo "annoying bits rather than catchy/quirky bits"
I thought he was just
making the distinction between 'beer' and 'a beer'.
An important distinction.

Agree with the review
Great band. Great song. Also, yes to the lyrics. I was listening to Young Machetes again today. It's just amazing. Giant Swan's breath-taking.
