It's not 'Lights Out' that contains the lyrics you describe - it's 'The Rubettes'.

Unbelievable power. This performance reawoke my love for a song I thought I was bored of.
For about one second at 3:32 you can see how much rain is coming down on him when he moves his mic down.
um
Clearly if the song's point is worth anything at all, it has just as much point a year after the bombings than any other time. Providing a song doesn't condone such an event, I don't see how mentioning it in a song, or suggesting that some of the response to it has been negative, is "insensitive"...
this review is not well proofread
you mean 'near incomprehensible' not 'near incomprehensive' - the latter wouldn't make sense.
and there needn't be an apopstrophe in the 'culture's' in 'these cultures are old'.
sounds like a shit record though.
Vapour Trail
Will Vapour Trail be a version of the Ride song? If so, bet it can't top Trespassers William's version...
Tenacious D
Wankers.
Spot on.
I must admit...
I'm VERY surprised that 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot' didn't make this. What an album.
Different Class
is truly one of those albums where every single track (with the possible exception of FEELINGCALLEDLOVE) is literally incredible.
Get Free
is a tune...
But
Reviews are more than reactions - otherwise just yelling 'good' or 'bad' would be a review.
I don't have objections to this kind of review to stuff that is clearly awful, but I actually think this song is OK.
Yes
She should sound more like The Mars Volta.
Think
That's a joke
Well
If it's better than the new Snow Patrol record it must be fucking great. I wonder if it's better than syphilis too?
Damn straight
Tortoise are so over-rated
Tbh
You should just buy 'Bring It On'. Whatever crap they may have produced, I won't hear a word against that album.
Well, I will, but I would disagree.
C'mon...
Where's 'Come On Baby'? His best song by miles...
It's happened
Moby - Animal Rights
Isobel Campbell
To be fair, she wrote all but one of the tracks on the record alone - I don't think a fuss should be kicked up.
I would like to see Hot Chip win but the Campbell/Lanegan record is good too.
um
when he was 18 it would have been 1998...which was before coldplay's first album
Um
1. This has been known for months, possibly since before James Dean Bradfield announced his...
2. It's actually I Killed The Zeitgeist
3. I don't think they are breaking up, they're meant to be doing an album for release next year
Brakes
"You know the girl from Sleater-Kinney; you said you could understand why it was that she continued to play when she was only earning ten grand P.A."
yeah
I saw them in Oxford, it was Grosvenor supporting.
Yes
This is a good review, and an utterly amazing album. It's so much better than their first record, they've come on so much.
Damn
I thought that said 'Sumner' - I was hoping for a collaboration between Slayer and Bernard Sumner.
That would have been amazing.
kids...
...pointing out that you like someone like Explosions In The Sky more than Sugababes, whether straight or in an unfunny "ironic" comment, is a totally redundant comparison.
yeah...
...because what with only 48 states left to make albums about, it's about time he released 21 songs as a separate outtakes collection!
It's
sure as hell better than most of the stuff on the album.
Well...
You could always illegally download them ;)
Yes
This is very nice indeed.
No...
It was 3 Doors Down who did Kryptonite.
Ooh
But are sociologists 'scientists'? Controversial! A whole debate in the Philosophy of Social Science! :P
No
You're deeply wrong. Amstell may have been the white, male, middle class, indie-looking one, (prompting joy from white, middle class, indie kids) but she was genius in her own way.
What?
Parachutes is the only consistently good Coldplay album, and even it is beaten by rather a lot of REM albums - Murmur, Reckoning, Life's Rich Pageant, Automatic For The People and Up...
Six By Seven - "We never told anybody that we split up, because we didn’t feel it was important."
Yeah the website announced this ages ago; but it seems it's basically just not true if they're all going to be in not one but two new bands!
Re: Government looks to aid indie labels
How does something like a tax break make you just like a major label?
Re: Government looks to aid indie labels
Though I do imagine right-wing tabloids will now be able to run articles about "drug addict rock stars whose habits are funded by the government".

Cherubs - Man Of No Importance
Also, it's not their last single, it was the one before (ie the first) - 'Club Hoola Hoop's Walls' or the 'I Go To Whom I Dressed For EP', depending on which you want to call it, was the last one.

Oceansize
I had a lot of fun trying to dance to their time signatures, despite the lack of compatriots in that department.
And my oh my the Barfly is a shithole.

Re: The Rolling Stones ready 'Neo-con'
(Having said which this will be embaressing).
Re: The Silent Type - Of Writing / Of Violence
Downloads from this sound great - must get it.
Re: Popworld's Amstell to join Xfm
Amstell is a god, Popworld is genius.
