I only mentioned them because of the constant comparisons
especially from people who've been praising WL.
sterile
The whole point of joy division's sound was the tension in it. This album has none. It's dead music.
y'know
their sparser moments I quite like, and they have some really nice basslines. A bit of andy gill guitar as well
I just think they should tone down the keyboards a bit on occasion - they swamp their sound sometimes.
They can do it. Just needs a little work here and there.
Present the Paisley Reich
Is better. Good album though.
let's face it
they really don't do anything too interesting at all. Really have never got why people like them either.
But it's all opinion as ever.

Agree with this.
can't
we have a news blackout or something. (Note to self: not helping)
I'm disappointed
with the level of domesticity displayed here. I mean, caring about your garden fence...?

Agreed, that was a great song, and I normally hate this kind of thing intensely. Also, '57' by Biffy Clyro.
Hate everything both have done since though...
raw?
>"they've stripped their sound down to its >barest, rawest form. The result is their >leanest collection of songs yet"
I would argue the exact opposite - they've polished their sound till it gleams, compared to the previous two albums. I don't really appreciate this, as it was their utter rawness (on record at least) that drew me to them in the first place.
There is no song on this that makes me want to shout or bounce around the room or fuck, while Keep on your Mean Side was full of them.
.
I don't know, I loved the first album, thought the second one was good but not as good. Enjoyed seeing them live a *lot* of times as well.
Problem is, I've only heard the one single off of this one and I really, really hated it - a lot.
of course, you have to shell out for accommodation...
voice
should have been in '*' as well...

I have to say
I'm finding this album extremely banal.
