I second this.

Great stuff.

oops, that wasn't my google search bar

sorry for interrupting the debate

hudson mohawke

My day/week needed this news.

Combined with the new Gui Boratto review, I feel a little spoiled by DiS today.

H

Yndi Halda soundtracked the slower-than-usual

bus to work nicely.

I now have Galaxie 500 - Snowstorm buzzing around my head with a full on blizzard attacking Glasgow. Lovely.

First 8 that come to mind...

m83 - kim & jessie
frightened rabbit - good arms vs bad arms
pnau - embrace (fred falke remix)
errors - pump
twilight sad - half a person
low motion disco - love love love (aeroplane remix)
tv on the radio - love dog
dusty kid - the cat (this year or not?)

every aeroplane remix i've laid my paws on has been solid gold.

indeed

what he said

rather misleading.

Yeah, but when you've personally made

"the best album ever," everything else must pale slightly by comparison.

Good grief!

A gig in Ayr! Worth it for the novelty value alone.

Malky should be headlining it though...

very, very wrong

there isn't a less cockish man in the world.

gay4gruff.

Yeah, but for that you had to skip

a Soulwax headlining/homecoming thing with fireworks and trapeze artists.

I might love Pukkelpop more than Glastonbury, or even Connect last year.

I reckon M83 - Saturdays = Youth

Errors - ....Whatever are ahead in an album of the year run in, but there's no shame in that.

What remixes have the done this year? Anyone want to encourage my laziness and advise me of the best ones?

A proper tour would be nice. Saw them at Optimo earlier in the year, but it was only half an hour or so.

Yeah, I'm sure everyone not in London

agrees with you as well...

Pish venue better than no venue? Who knows...?

Good news about the album though.

Wash your mouth out.

Gruff is ALWAYS good enough.

Bristol Trinity Church (October 28)

Fingers crossed

this is one of those articles without all the dates.

Glasgow?
Please.....?

I'd opened this up with my

frightened rabbit clicky-finger poised...

Since I've only properly heard Kala and Curses, it'll have to be one of them.

nope, I love it too.

summery goodness all over.

Its alright, I guess.

Electric Picnic looks a lot better though, I'd hoped for more of their bill since its over the same weekend.

^this

how is "those were bigger songs people could get behind" in anyway negative towards cannonball?

and he follows up the trashy bit by saying he likes that sort of thing.

she's a twat.

Originally, were some of the gigs not billed as 3pm doors

and this has now changed to 7:30/8pm doors/entry?

That'd probably mean one, maximum two supports, sadly.

Of course, I could be completely wrong.

was this not announced as at oran mor?

or is there two dates?

I have high hopes for this

the new material played on the acoustic mainlines tours was brilliant; especially soul on fire, sitting on fire and death, take your fiddle.

just need a scottish date now....

the glasgow one is at

the big issue distribution office on 107 saltmarket. sunday, half 6.

I was at low

and there was only one small scuffle. I fail to see what that has to do with the venue.

right enough though, last gig you'd expect that at.

he didn't play glasgow on the tour last year

i saw it in edinburgh and it was as good as the blurb suggests. spacemen stuff sounded tremendous.

indeed

the big romance is one of those rare gems that can be played through repeatedly and you always find more things to love.

still not got the first album, its been on 'the list' for about 5 years. headphones is brilliant though.

you sir....

are a liar.

saw this on planet sound and assumed

they'd made a typo. didn't think the black keys would be in the main abc hall, but guess they must be, since all the other 2's are clear to see.

yes, buy them both

its called "5:14 john floxy nicotine yaddda yadda something" and has crappo the clown and lonliest night of my life and birdwatchin and king of bring which are 4 fantastic reasons to get up every morning.

if you wish convincing, pm me and i'll supply some mp3's.

i thought the new stuff has been okay

fair enough, its not black dollar bills, but bands have been panned for not changing their sound in the past.

the singles from the last album were arguably "chasing the adulation of nme reading masses," in that they were cracking guitar pop songs. the album had the 6 and 7 minute epics.

based on what i heard at king tuts on the club tour in february (i think), the new album seems to follow that. the string soaked symphonies they're famed for don't get played on radio 1 during the day, so you get sing it out and blood meridian.

its your opinion, you can't like what folk tell you to. i just think that was a very strange rant up there ^

i'm a good folk... that'll please my mum

i'd say his two albums are among the finest released in the last 3 or 4 years.
some might not agree with me, but some are wrong.

saw them sunday

for the first time at the ayr burns festival and it blew me away. it was an outdoor stage, which i thought didn't bode well, but i've listened to the album obsessively, so i guess my head filled in the windy bits.

the second half of 'wrongfully i rested' is perfection. the vocal melody on that and sister sneaker sister soul does something strange (and enjoyable) to me.

are B&S definitely playing

glasgow?

Someone told me it was an acoustic set, but everything i've found says its just chris doing a dj set.... and there was nothing on their website to suggest they are.

it is only £4.50, i should probably just go.

this is just upsetting..

reminding me that i won't be in a field for the last week of june this year, thus not enjoying the best week of the year.

although the dire straits things is interesting. perhaps they'll play in the car park to hurry everyone through the gates.

ahh, but mister marwood

you also get the unmistakeable pleasure of hookers green into the bargain.

they're worth two journeys from whatever backwater you're in.

are all large festival bills...

not utter guff to begin with?
they announce the 'names' to sell the tickets (although thats hardly tough these days) and then fill up the smaller stages from now till june/july. i'd expect all those artists will be on top 2 stages, except maybe some headliners for smaller tents.
give it time folks.

also, eels and the go team bodes well for t in the park since these two usually have a similar line up.

Re: Belle And Sebastian

and they played womans realm :0( wish i was there.
for the above person, its been advertised for about three months i'm sure, maybe even longer.

i'd considered a plane-y trip to london for the event, but funds let me down

Re: Supergrass acoustic it to the masses

shes so loose

Sigur Ros Dates & Album information

this has been upsetting me for months... they're playing glasgow but i'll be in a big field getting trashed before a whole weekend of lovely bands.

dilemma: arrive early at titip, getting guttered before sunset by consuming a weekends supply of 'whatever' or go see sigur ros, have the aural equivalent of a big bag of 'whatever', but risk being late for festival......?

Vetiver

was micah hinson supporting on this date at all? wondering if he was any good live.
looking to punish myself really, would've seen him tonight if not for non employment, so if it was jaw dropping, give me it slow.

on second thoughts, if it was jaw dropping it'd be in the review. anyway...

thank you please
