I was there

I was at this gig in Cambridge, and I can safely say that the above review is complete fabrication.
I missed MSTU, but did see 1990's. They wholly deserve a 4/10, as they were abysmal.
But 10/10 for long blondes!? What are you thinking? "they have the audience in the palm of their collective hand from the moment the lights dim" - what a lie! Most people in the audience, bar a few diehard fans, looked incredibly bored throughout.

I can't believe I didn't know about this!?!

I live in Brentford, and I had absolutely no idea this gig was going on. Grrr. Sounds awesome though.

Mew

For anyone who has seen them live recently or somehow heard the new album:

How does the new material compare to Frengers classics like Am I Wry and Comforting Sounds?

Also, do we actually have a date for the release of the new album? I'm seeing them at Islington Academy mid-sept and I wanna hear the new stuff before then.

Re: Mew - Apocalypso

How do you know the new album is really good? It's not out til September (or have I just made that up?)

Re: Mew - Apocalypso

Yeh, they're new album is out in September, and is apparently called "Glass Handed Kites". Strange name, but fingers crossed that it'll be as good as Frengers.

And I'm gonna be seeing them at the Islington Academy! Can't wait to see Comforting Sounds live.

Re: Hard-Fi back in the Neighbourhood

Strange they didn't play Glastonbury, cos they were at the Wireless festival the day before they were supposed to be playing at Glastonbury.

New Order - Jetstream

Has anyone else noticed that New Order's last single, Krafty, sounds EXACTLY like the Cure song "Cut Here". And I mean EXACTLY. Is this incredibly unsubtle plagarism, or is it supposed to be a pseudo-cover?
