dont...

... kids just listen to grown up music?

mine do.

wine gums are more cinema for me.

used to be boiled sweets for driving, but now haribo sour mix have kind of changed that whole market.

you started this...

what did you expect.

once i dropped my tin of sweets whilst driving. white powder like everywhere.

and not on an admin site.

geddit?

thats quite a image.

woah.

i feel dizzy with hate...

... just thinking about this band. they seem to be everything i think is wrong with music in one conveniently hateable chunk.

vocals.....

... bill hicks.

sorry mike,....

... thats not meant to be a critism of the review.

i root for the underdog. ironically, on dis, coldplay is the underdog.

...

even thought i knew this review would annoy me, i read it anyway. whats wrong with me?

but.....

... it did make apparent that dennis is a cool dancer.

they do!

and they have thier song as 'you've lost that loving feeling' by the righteous brothers.

i like thier new single.

i know some people get really riled about them, but for me they swing between dull or quite listenable.

er yeah....

the next line is..... 'i'm naked and loose, and noones home. juicing free on my holy bone'

doubt its about anything other than slappin the salami.

i can tell....

... alot of you like the white stripes.

get the kleenex

as in 'and after the break...... get the kleenex'.

this is a really nice comp....

... and beautifully packaged.

squirk coke on screen

boo-yaa.

...

he exhibits his ongoing ability to connect with the public.

perhaps....

... you should promote the record on the internet, to reach a wider audience and stuff?

i swear...

.. the only reason DiS doesnt stomp all over them is because it would be too easy to.

hideously over-rated...

...in a way that makes me less cheerful about people. that is all.

this sort of thing...

... get the daily mailer in me all riled up.

someone should point out that....

....dying of a tummy tuck is in danger of being percieved as an amercian cliche.

...

not much love for DEP on DIS?

the kerrang cover

is pretty disgusting. and given how indie they are, you know noone's bullied them into getting nekkid for the !aLtErNaTiVeS!

that said, nothing can put me off this band.

not even when greg threw and pint glass that showered me and my dad in broken glass at the rios in bradford did i think they were anything other than totally brilliant.

pm

played eiger's last gig party in july and it was lovely. mad props.

DiS

the one about ray is a good song. thats all i've heard.

i lose more and more respect for DiS every time i read one of these.

....

who may not even be from nottingham?

in fact who may have a car and be able to drive to wherever they play next time.

i'm afraid...

... i have never been off with a cold.

i do like to fall asleep to breach or godspeed though.

i'm obviously extremely biased on this.....

but your perception is very very wrong. please do listen again to calculating infinity or irony is a dead scene.

i like em.

whats the problem?

journey south

for those concerned that journey south have somehow 'made it big' and this is them on the up, may i reassure you they play the white rose pub in dewsbury fairly regularly it seems. i pass it on the way to the station on a mornign and have often thoughtits not the kind of place i'd go into without a broken bottle.

s'ok...

... found it on that there discussion board.

anyone....

... got the track listing for the comp cd?

woah

alot of people into radiohead then.

...

i work round the corner from this street and walk past it daily. its a very busy road on which the site of the hacienda club was and now houses the hacienda apartment so i doubt anyone will notice.

americanos!

sheesh!

tattoos

... how daring.

she's going to get....

... about as much sympathy as heather mills does.

grohl is our 2007 low rent mccartney.

sometimes...

.. i touch myself.

half a century^^^^^^

... not half a decade.

wierd thing about botch is....

... its a good record, but if you measure how much i like by how often i listen to it, its pretty low down my charts.

i listen to breach far more often, who are reformed for a gig in stockholm that i cant go to.

i think its....

pen-yar-tay

...

is that a uke or is he absolutely massive?

you all seem to be confused.....

... allow me to clarify.

foo fighters are now potentially still the best of our stadium rock acts, but they are a weak imitation of the previously act they were due to the generic nature of thier song writings, the lack of genuine emotion in thier songs and the repetion of the riffs over and over and over between recent albums.

how many times are they going to finish a song by repeating the chorus over and over and then swtich to yet more repetions but with upper register shouty chorus.

i get quite worked up about this.....its sad, colour and the shape and nothing left to lose were beautiful.

i saw them at reading where the soundguys turned the sound off on them as they were finishing with everlong, and the crowd went silent as we listened to them finish the song through thier tiny little stage equipment hundreds of yards away. it was magical. inidividual, honest, genuine, moving. and now, theyre radio one's favourite 'rawk' track to be played once every 6 hours to make all the dj's think they know anythign about rock music.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

.

stuff like this shows you how untalented our current 'stars' are by comparison to past artists or those who are actually talented.

eg - maximo park covering timberlake on radio 1 the other day. wow. soooooo bad. shoddy musicianship, tasteless reinterpretation, and irony bypass. bad bad bad.

h.o.f.

art of self defence is a brilliant record. i saw these live with mastodon, but all the bands suffered from the abysmal sound that josephs well in leeds is well known for.

....

no personal slight intended and no refund needed!

i'm repeatedly enthused by the way you approach the music and the humourous way in which you handle interviews and the like, but then on listening i'm always left feeling that the idea of a modern band of ramshackle blues outlaws is better than the resulting music.

i'd say the bitter angle comes from the fact that everyone seems to enjoy the set and i'm left wondering why it was good and feeling a bit silly.

perhaps i'd enjoy your newer 'groovin' material more.

.....

this band says all the right things, and has all the right influences (groundhogs, zz top, etc..) but everytime i see them i'm so bitterly disappointed.

...

i have been working towards this for a while now, but this is the first year i have actually not heard anything by any of this year's mercury nominees.
