isn't it

gabriel stebbing who wrote this? i think the first line 'look at oscar...' is a bit of a giveaway.

probably

would have been better to actually protest on a day when there would have been daily mail staff in the office though, no?

yeah, i saw

that bit with nemo. 'twas a bit humiliating for them. good on them for dropping out but come on, surely you should have known before you rocked up what it was exactly you'd have to do.

i'm going to the ica gig! :D

i've been listening lots to kala. i loves it.

he is?

i'm there

i was there

didn't get to see that many good bands but who cares i was on the schooner too!!

and yes, the faroes are astoundingly beautiful. my mind still boggles at how the sheep can graze on the steep cliffs without falling off...

beautiful album

she's so good live. listening to her sing famous blue raincoat at the spitz was magical.

i don't work

anywhere near the store. :*(

no

this venue really is as bad as he made out and the people there were fucking awful as well.

as far as i'm concerned it should be razed to the ground. yes.

does anyone

know who's supporting on the 9th??

this is a fabulous song

i agree with everything jook said - it's the perfect song to play on dusky summery evenings...

i love m craft, i think he deserves to be much bigger than he is. it's strange how his album didn't really make much of an impact but it's fantastic stuff.

isn't it 93 feet east

they're playing on the 11th?

i saw them live a few weeks ago

and this single is indeed a slice of summery pop perfection. the rest is a bit meh though.

boooooooo! :(

i did

he was the aceness and i liked his new stuff as well.

what are you guys talking about??!!??!

needle in the hay is an ammaazzinggggg song.

it's beautiful and makes your heart crack just a little every time you hear it.

it would probably be my favourite track of his if it weren't for between the bars.

yaaaayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

i'll be there on the 21st

yes!!

yay for midlake!

roscoe is such a great choon.

i think hannah

should get a photographer's credit.

saw them supporting

the gossip. they were alright, i guess.

i think the lead singer needs to loosen up and put a bit more spirit into her performance as she seemed to be going through the motions somewhat.

i want this

ahhh...

my favourite track off the album

they were in a film

called clean with maggie cheung.
tricky was in it too.
it was alright.

if you play

idioteque we will!

this album

is lovely, absolutely lovely.

guess

i'll be going to see the wrens then.

OMG!!!!!

curzon cinema?

that should be interesting.

I'm going

to the London date. Yay! :D

Hahaha

True

Yep

saw them supporting Deerhoof and they were awful. Vice magazine gave their album a 9. Why?

scala website says this:

TV ON THE RADIO SHOW CANCELLED
Tunde Adebimpe´s father died unexpectedly yesterday. He has flown back to America to be with his family, and in the absence of their lead singer TV On The Radio are unable to play at The Scala this evening.

However, Celebration will perform at 9pm, and the remaining members of TV On The Radio will be joining them onstage.TV On The Radio will also be playing songs from their new album as part of a DJ set. This is a world exclusive !

All ticket holders are welcome to come to the show - the price of their tickets will be fully refundable (from point of purchase) whether they come or not. We would love it if as many people as possible could make it along to see a great band.

The remainder of the 1980 Forward shows continue as planned - Magnetophone & Minotaur Shock perform at The Luminaire on Friday evening, and The Breeders play at Blackheath Halls on Saturday and Sunday. For more details about the event visit www.4ad.com.

Exclusive Sigur Rós playback on Myspace

I'm listening to it now...it's looooovely.

Antony & The Johnsons take Mercury prize

Thank god it wasn't the Kaiser Chiefs.

Kanye West: "Bush doesn't care about black people"

Good on him for saying what everyone else has been thinking.

Re: Mercury Music Prize Nominations Announced

Oooo...Polar Bear made it to the shortlist. Me very pleased. They're one of the best bands operating on the contemporary jazz scene at the moment. The drummer Seb Rochford is also in another band called Acoustic Ladyland which is even better - shame they didn't get nominated. Both acts need to be seen live in all their glory to be really appreciated.

Even so don't think PB stands a chance. Go Team and Bloc Party are both pretty worthy but my favourite has to be the fabulous M.I.A!
